New blade, good blade, old saw, knocking 30, still a good saw, use sharp blades, keeps em running longer.

  • Works great on table saws.
A little pricey but works great on table saws. We use it at a pallet yard.

  • Actual size is 8 PLUS 3/4 inch
Don't be fooled by the "8 minus 1/4 inch" description, this is actually "8 plus 1/4 inch" in diameter. Getting the most depth of cut from my Makita MGA5008 with this blade. I've got rough-cut boardwalk planks 3-3.5" thick, on 4x6 and 8"-round stringers, and need all the cut depth I can get. With "standard" 7.25" saws/blades every cut is an exercise in doing it 2 or more times. With this saw and blade, I can get all the planks on 1 pass, and a deep enough cut on the stringers to just finish with a Sawzall. ... show more

  • Glad to Find 8-1/4 Blade
Home Depot and Lowes have dropped 8-1/4 blades. I was afraid they had become extinct! Very happy to find them on Amazon and received mine in coupe of days. Makita is a fine blade besides.

  • stable cutting has been very good, but I finally got tired of dealing with ...
Some of the blades for 8 1/4" circular saws are actually only 8" (if the blade says 8-81/4" beware) which decreases the depth of cut by 1/8". It's a minor decrease, but when you're cutting pressure treated 6x6s (which are around 5 5/8" when wet) by making a matching cut on opposite sides, both cuts are decreased by 1/8" with a resulting decrease of 1/4" with the result that sometimes it leaves about 1/8" uncut right through the middle. I have had a Freud blade on the saw and its smooth, stable cutting has been very good, but I finally got tired of dealing with this little problem. This Makita blade is a full 8 1/4" and it is stable enough while also cutting fast and clean. ... show more

  • Put this blade in a 10 inch saw, you'll never go back.
I put one of these blades in a 10 inch portable table saw about 20 years ago with great results. I've used them ever since . I rarely need the extra depth of cut. These blades last a very long time and stay sharp. The smaller diameter blade allows my saw to power through even wet treated lumber without bogging down. I used to like the 8 1/4 Makita saw but found it eventually outdated and the lousy fence was the final death nel. Currently using a Dewalt saw with good results (I tried a 10 in Makita they haven't fixed the lousy fence) ... show more
