MAKIN'S-Makin's Professional Ultimate Clay Extruder. This clay extruder has many uses and can be used for all types of clay including polymer and metal clay. With the ten different disc designs included you can create many different embellishments for your projects. The extruder is made of stainless steel and measures 4x4x1 inch. Each of the design discs has a 3/4 inch diameter; the exact size of the design varies from shape to shape. This package contains one clay extruder; ten design discs; and one cleaning rubber ring. I've never used an extruder before, so I haven't any way to compare this particular one with other models. That being said, I do find it's performance consistent, easy to use, and easy to clean (just follow the directions on the back of the package). I prefer its small size since I do not do large work. I use air dry clay through it, and have had no issues. I bought a set of extruder discs (different from those that come with the extruder) and they work well too, no problems.     • O-ring slipped off on first use
Using this with polymer clay and the o-ring gasket slipped out of position on the first use. The o-ring is poorly joined with a visible flaw, so it will likely continue to slip out of place. Got clay everywhere, despite the claim of a "completely clean" barrel after use.

A little pricier but this is a case of you get what you pay for. I won't go back to the other brand I'd been using. The other would lock up after not much use and you'd have to really grind to get it to work. I've used this twice as long as the others and still no issues.

    • Easy to use and works well.
This works well. Just unscrew the bottom, add the disc that you want to use, screw the bottom piece back on. Then unscrew the top, place a small amount of clay inside, and then screw the top back on. It is easy to use and provides a very long piece. I did find that cleaning the old clay out of the large piece took a few minutes. ... show more
