This review is from my experience personally and as a pottery instructor. I have not been compensated in any way by the seller or company. I love this tiny wheel. First, if you are considering buying this wheel or saving a few dollars by buying a similar looking wheel, buy this one. I bought this one for myself and then tested an identical looking model for a class that I was teaching, and this one is far more powerful. There are (much) more expensive tiny wheels out there, but this will meet the needs of the majority of people looking for a tiny wheel. That said, please adjust your expectations for what a tiny wheel should be able to do. If you place a finger firmly on the wheel, you can stop the wheel. If you have experience throwing on a regular wheel, you will need to learn how to center without putting pressure on the wheel head. It is not perfect. It sounds like a tiny chainsaw. The splash pan is very small and will still allow some splashing. The tools included are normal sized tools. (Make a tiny pottery tool kit, Vevor!) Ultimately, I would buy this wheel again, and I recommend it to my students who are interested in tiny potting. You can’t have more fun at this price point. Happy potting! ... show more

This wheel is great if you’re not quite ready to invest in a professional wheel but would still recommend one over this. It works just fine. Has a quiet high pitched noise when spinning but not a big deal. The slowest speed is fairly fast, fine for throwing but makes trimming a little more difficult. USE A BAT SYSTEM. I chose to try throwing directly on the wheel head, but there are a bunch of tiny grooves carved into the wheel head which have metal shavings left behind and both that and the grooves have cut up my hands. There are not bat pins so you will need to use the clay suction method. Hope this helps :) ... show more

Vevor, the company, and its products are not trustworthy. Made in China, my pottery wheel showed up without a drive belt. When I finally found customer support contact information, I was told the China-based company would contact me with a resolution. That never happened! I ordered the pottery wheel for one of my kid's Christmas gifts, and now rather than hearing screams of joy over their gift… I feel as though I let them down I decided to choose this inferior machine from a non-responsive company. The media could not be loaded. Overall the wheel is good and it works, and is easy to use.it does make a high pitch whistling sound when it’s on. And when I took the screws out to make all of the feet taller, one of the legs holes wouldn’t line up so I could only get one screw back in, versus the two screws you should be able to put in. I know that when I pay under $200 for a wheel it’s not going to be perfect. I’m going to keep it because it does what I need it to, but upon opening it it looked used, and all of the welded edges were very sharp. It says that the wheel head is 14”, but I measured and it is 13 3/4”. I don’t know if that’s typical. I have a YouTube channel and I posted a full length in depth video review of the wheel. Gears might be plastic and might need lubricating because it's extremely loud when pressure is applied by hand. RPM really is 0 to fast. I had it spin where I could barely see it but of course, that meant less pressure can be applied unless you have at least a few RPM to get it going with power. (Adapter is 12V 2A output. I got the one for $36.) It comes ready to use, just tighten any of the two disks from the side using the allen wrench, or don't do anything at all. (I disassembled mine as I need it for other things.) Update: took apart the gearbox. Some are in fact plastic. Most importantly, all are quite loose; they're meant to fail and that's probably why this device is so loud. If you're looking to do pottery, this is an excellent tool. But if you're like me, looking to take the motor for other purposes requiring precision and longevity, then look elsewhere. However, all gears & shafts are VERY lightly lubricated, so that's nice. ... show more

This is a super fun little pottery wheel. My son bought one for his wife (young 20s) so I also bought one for my 12 year old son and they both have had a great time using these and made some super cute little pots, mugs, vases, etc. It has 2 different turntable sizes, the white part under the turntable has good sides on it that catch all the drips so it's fairly easy to clean up the mess from the clay. I like that it also has a variety of speeds, especially as my son was learning how to use it. It also comes with a good variety of tools, including a wire to cut the pots off the wheel. My DIL has been using a lighter (with the long barrel) and "firing" the pots while they spin on the wheel which seems to work fairly well, then she can paint them. Definitely advise adult supervision with that part! But, this seems to be a great little wheel and priced well. ... show more

This is a great beginner wheel. It’s very short so I made a stand for it to lift it up about 10 inches. I prefer to throw sitting down but you could put this on a table and throw standing up. I have only thrown about 2 pounds but that’s enough for a mug or small vase so it’s a great place to start. I love the black handled trimming tools which really add value to this wheel. The splash pan is a little flimsy and I’m not sure how long it will last but so far it comes off easy for cleaning. I love that the wheel head is slightly bigger than most beginning wheels. It doesn’t have bat pin holes so you have to throw directly on the wheel. Overall this is a great value for the beginner potter to get in some practice ... show more
