  • Good product for the price
Size: 11in-350W
In general, I do not throw more than 5 lbs of clay. This wheel fits my needs perfectly. First, the cons: 1) the slowest speed is still a little fast for me. You'll get used to it and it doesn't affect the work, but still, I prefer to be able to slow it down a bit more. 2) it does not have bat holes. 3) at first, when the wheel head got wet, it seemed to get a bit discolored but if you wash the wheel head and dry it well, you'll minimize this problem. It does not affect the clay in anyway. The pros: 1) love the lightweight, easy to move around. 2) easy to use. I'm a beginner, it took me 5 minutes to figure it out. 3) the price point is perfect and affordable for a hobby, 4) works very well for under 5lbs, 5) easy to clean, the interlocking splash pan is very nice and easy to use and take apart. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it for hobbyists like me. ... show more

  • PLEASE BUY THIS WHEEL IF YOU LOVE POTTERY AND WANT TO MAKE ART! EXCELLENT VALUE!
Size: 11inch-350W White
The media could not be loaded. Pottery has been a LIFELONG dream of mine, but has always been out of my reach for financial reasons -- who the heck can afford a $1,500 wheel, especially if you're just starting out and you have no idea how it's going to go?? Enter VEVOR -- I could barely believe my eyes when I was seeing what appeared to be, at least from a power/size aspect -- a perfectly usable brand new pottery wheel available for under $150!! I admittedly don't know what I'm doing, and have limited experience on the pricier wheels -- but I cannot for the life of me find ANY issue with this amazing wheel. The thing is built like a tank, it is thick steel and plenty heavy to stay in place -- I just centered 10lb of clay on it this morning, no problem. I do not write reviews on Amazon, but I am IN LOVE WITH THIS POTTERY WHEEL!!! VEVOR is doing (the kiln) God's work by offering such a solid product at a price that can put it in the hands of any amateur (as in -- one who pursues something out of love rather than profit or profession!! But it would sure make a nice profession!). DO NOT listen to YouTube reviews and Reddit posts of people downplaying this wheel -- I am 100% convinced they are jaded folks who are salty that they paid $1,500 for something that can be had for so, so much less money. This wheel is 450W which translates to .6 hp -- good luck getting a .5 hp Shimpo for less than a months' rent -- so I don't quite get the "it's too low powered" argument I hear often. And all of the "it's not built to last!" people are literally talking about something they do not/could not know. Heck, if it broke every year for the next decade I could keep buying new ones and still come out on top. THANK YOU THANK YOU VEVOR FOR LITERALLY MAKING MY DREAM A REALITY!! If you are even pottery-curious, this wheel is FAR too good of a value for you to pass up a chance to pursue your passion!! Thank you for the most creative 3 months of my life, and I can't wait for a lifetime more!! ... show more

  • It is what it is.
Size: 11inch-350W White
I have been taking pottery classes for about 3 years. I'm at a point where I want to be able to throw at home, but I don't have $1000 for a wheel. This is a good compromise. Pros: It's an affordable wheel that works. It centers up to about 4 pounds, which is plenty for beginners. Easy to reverse directions for lefties. Cons: It is small and low, about 4 inches lower than a speedball on its highest setting. It also becomes a bit unstable when centering more clay. Be prepared to brace it with your legs while centering. The foot pedal is large and clunky and feels cheap. The wheel head is grooved like a record and does not have holes for bat pins. When centering 3+ pounds, you can definitely feel the wheel slowing down under the force. Things to keep in mind: You can drill holes for bat pins. My husband is making me new risers for the legs to bring it up to about 19 inches like standard wheels. I plan on weighing the risers to bring the center of gravity down. I'll report back with how well it works. Overall I'm just thrilled to have a functioning wheel in my home. I'll continue going to the studio to make larger pieces and someday I hope to upgrade. For now, this works. ... show more

  • Poor quality control
Size: 11inch-350W White
Haven’t even used it yet, but the direction button was broken straight out of the box. One of the legs is rusty, the leg adjustment is pretty terrible. Holes don’t line up well and some of the screws go in at an angle. The wheel head also has a wobble. The shaft doesn’t look centered and the wheel head doesn’t sit level. I know it’s a cheap wheel but the quality is garbage. ... show more

  • I absolutely love it
Size: 11in-350W
So I haven't had a single issue with this after a couple months use. Works great, love the speeds. The only downside for me personally is that I can't afford a kiln, and the fragility of air dry clay became a nuisance...so am going to try to re-task it as a cement pottery wheel rather than clay, because I just love using it. Good heft means it doesn't shift around, but light enough I can lift onto my work bench and use it standing, which my back prefers. I've seen "experienced" potters say stay away from the affordable wheels like this one...but I have to be honest, I think it's because they haven't even bothered trying it. I have been super happy with it, and would happily recommend. ... show more

  • Bad customer service
Size: 11inch-350W White
I understand that this is a budget friendly pottery wheel but the foot pedal stopped working properly. I reached out and was told I would get a new wheel. It took a bit because they would send me videos and parts to try myself. But after a bit they ended up sending me a new one.

  • Good Wheel For The Money
Size: 11in-350W
Bought this as a gift, and has been quite a good wheel. The speed variation on it, while decent, needs a lower speed setting. At the lowest speed, it’s still pretty fast for what it is. I imagine if it were being used for larger pieces, the speed would not be an issue. Over all, it’s an excellent starter wheel, and for the price, it is ridiculously good. ... show more

  • Happy Potters
Size: 11in-350W
I purchased this for my sister for her birthday last year, and she absolutely loves it! It was easy to set up and so easy to use. It may not be the most expensive pottery wheel, but it is the most fun to use! She loves it and when I get to use it, I love it too.
