This stand is made of solid materials and securely holds the iPad vis magnets. It works with a portfolio case attached to the iPad. I use it during my work day to keep the iPad at eye level. I also use it at night while charging the iPad. The wide base is heavy enough to ensure the stand doesn’t tip over yet allows easy repositioning of the stand on the desk. The swivel points on the rom and mounting plate are very tight so it does require some effort to change the height and angle of the plate. While the stand design is great and sturdy, it falls short in supporting low-angle positions for my iPad Pro 12.9". Setting it up is very easy, and it excels at higher angles, perfect for use as a monitor. However, for tasks requiring a lower viewing position such as sketching, and notes, this is not the stand for you as the main arm is too weak to support the weight of the iPad. ... show more

    • VERY STABLE

Purchased for use with 3rd Gen, 11” iPad Pro (A2301). After trying a number of magnetic stands, I’m so glad to have finally found one that works! The previous stands I tried claimed to be compatible with my device, but even after carefully reading the instructions/ reviewing the diagrams and double checking that my device is supposed to be compatible, it would just slide right off. I was pleasantly surprised that this one worked with minimal effort ( the effort being, looking at the diagram, peeling off the protective film from the stand, and placing the device on the stand as diagrammed). I love that this stand is so sturdy and stable. The hinges/ connections are nice and tight, so the whole setup stays put just the way I set it. On the other hand, I did find the stiffness of the joints/ hinges to be a a bit too tight, so making adjustments like tilting up or down and rotating from landscape to portrait orientations takes a tiny bit of muscling. That’s the age-old trade-off, I suppose: stability vs. mobility. I’m hoping it loosens up a little with more use, but even if it doesn’t, I’m pretty darn happy with it. ... show more

I love this, it is so east to attach magnetically, love the rotation and it looks super cool. For desktop use (ie my iPad as a work tool alongside my monitor), or as a show stand, this thing is the best I have come across and worth every $$.
