Love this hoop for my PE800! I only wish it included a plastic grid but I made one using quilting template plastic. This hoop is easy to use and really holds the fabric in place.

    • DOES NOT FIT an NQ1700E
Everyone I checked with said this would fit my machine, but when I got it, it did not fit. The arm for attaching to the machine does not fit a 1700. It sounded like such a great idea, and I was looking forward to a couple of special projects, but no such luck for me. I had to return it.

    • Fits Brother PE800/PE900/SE1900 machines. Hard to center garments.
This magnetic hoop, while good for holding blank pieces of fabric, is not good for items that need to be precisely centered. When you smooth the fabric (using the magnetic bars) across the hoop, you can't see the center marks and the fabric shifts. If you need to embroider a square of fabric before you cut it to size, then this hoop works. At the current price (just under $100), it is a nicely priced magnetic hoop. However, if you are trying to get a design centered on a shirt or other garment, this hoop is hard to get the garment centered, as you are moving the fabric while smoothing it. This hoop is not good when you need precise hooping to keep a design straight. I have the version that fits the Baby Lock Flare and Brother NQ1600E/NQ1700E machines. (The hoop I use slides on. The version here snaps on, as the connectors are different.) This is a good magnetic hoop that is well made. It just isn't useful for garment embroidery, especially stitching shirt names that need to be perfectly straight. ... show more
