Aramax XT Sleeves are manufactured using MAGID 's proprietary Aramax XT Yarn, a unique, engineered blend of high performance polyethylene (HPPE), fiberglass and synthetic fibers. I like how the sleeve fits. It's tight but not too tight. I do a lot of landscape-type cutting, and many of the bushes have thorns. I got this to see if it would help avoid some of the cuts and scratches. It works! It does get a little warm working in the sun but it's better than all the cuts on my arm I'm used to. My only regret is that I didn't order two of them to start with. I also like how it protects my arm from sunburn. Double bonus!

Quality; loss of star: right out of the package, before ANY use of the sleeve, the seam was coming apart. See photos. There's a full segment gap in the hem enclosing the elastic, leaving the elastic hanging out exposed. It will need to be hand sewn repaired. Not a product ready for prime time. Protection: Cut Level 4 is medium. I discovered the number of Ansi levels increased to 1-9 since 2016; (previously 5 levels). So 4 is only lower-medium protection. Use/ necessity of sleeve: I got this ppe (personal protection equipment) arm sleeve to wear in conjunction with my cut resistant gloves, for my work in sculpture, with cutting/ carving wood & use of wood tools (especially flex shaft carver, hand saws, power saws), as well as metals, sheet glass, & concrete; (since the opportunity arose to grab this sleeve offer. I held in mind idea to obtain one after previously seeing them in stores. So I was glad to finally grab one). When you use tools & rough materials frequently, the chances increase for a mishap. -Is it the BEST level of protection for me? Only time will tell. (I guess with glass I understand you could go all the way up to level 9, especially if handling glass all day. My work with glass is extremely limited, so I am not deciding ANSI protection level for that task alone). I most need this sleeve on my left arm, since my tools (such as my rotary flex shaft tool) are used in my right hand; making the left arm the one most susceptible to injury. I CRINGE when I see people use my kind of tools/ materials, with bare arms (such as in youtube video lessons). At the least, I will wear this arm sleeve protection, but generally, even in hot weather, I do not like to have a bare arm when working with tools & materials like I listed above, & prefer to wear a tough material long sleeve shirt as well & other PPE. Protection should ALWAYS be worn if you want to keep your body parts (& have them intact) & don’t want lost time. Haste makes waste as they say. A minute of not stopping to put on PPE can mean hours in the E.R. (Especially when in a cluttered room, tired, rushing). Gives protection against cuts, not ‘pokes’: This cut protection material works for preventing cuts crosswise; but not for ‘pokes’ with sharp points which can invade through the fabric holes. “Poke” protection is a whole different type of PPE item. I see some reviews speak of wanting poke protection; it ain't happening with this sleeve. Sizing: The sleeve is held adequately by my upper arm, even bare arm, which has a circumference around of c. 12-13" relaxed/ flexed, at the widest point, as an older woman who does push ups. It just barely managed to tighten at the wide part of my arm; meaning someone with a larger arm could definitely fit the sleeve. Someone smaller could also fit with it, if they wear clothing underneath to help create some friction to hold the sleeve.

I ordered this sleeve for various do-it-yourself jobs around the house. It was perfect while repairing a washing machine with sharp metal edges when the cover was removed. It has also been handy to protect against a burn while doing some auto repairs. I recommend this sleeve for working with sheet metal or other sharp materials as well as gardening or trimming plants with thorns. It is a simple and effective solution for a reasonable price.

I got this thinking it was a two pack because I did not read the posting well but that being said this works well for me when I am reaching up into engine bays and inevitably drag my arm against things that are sharp. This saved my forearm from getting cut on a very sharp edged core support in a suv when reaching behind the radiator. It works like they say and I have no doubt it will stop many cuts that would have otherwise happened.
