Not a bad full block of knives for the money. Factory edge isn't extremely sharp, but once you take a sharpening stone to it, the edge will hold nicely. Full tang isn't quite even with the wood, but doesn't cause much discomfort while handling. The damascus pattern is laser-etched onto the blade for decoration. It looks nice, but at this price, people would be silly to think that it's real damascus steel. Comes with all your typical starter set knives and a bunch of steak knives. The spring on the kitchen shears is very strong, but I'd rather have it too strong than too light. All in all, not a bad set. You definitely get what you're paying for and it isn't a bad deal--just don't expect the same performance as the big name german or japanese steel knives. They certainly look nicer than the price would indicate, but perform as you'd expect at that price. ... show more

Upon arriving and unboxing, it is an attractive set of knives. I haven't noticed any mishaps with the edges. The colors are nice, the etching on the blades to give it that "wood look" are ok. Per the pictures as far as what you'll receive with the set, I did not get the finger guard, which was disappointing. But as of right now I'm looking forward to using them to prepare dinner tonight. ... show more

This set offers a knife for any occasion. They’re razor sharp and I absolutely enjoy the design on these. They really stand out amongst the rest of the knives in my kitchen. When chopping they have a very sturdy wooden base and you can almost just let knife do the work for you! I think it’s great that they have their own wooden block to return to that looks super sleek on my countertop. These are by no means cheaply made and by the looks of it they’ll be passed on for generations. ... show more
