  • I LOVE it!
Color: Pink
It is NOT an RGB keyboard. It is white backlit. As long as you know that, you should love this keyboard. I did not have the problem with the faceplate being lose like some of the other reviewers did. Not sure if this is a hit or miss issue or something the manufacturer solved but my faceplate is extremely sturdy. Very clicky and light sound to the keys (blue switches, clicky-er than red). If you're not wanting a super clicky keyboard, this one probably isn't for you. I would go for red switches for that normal keyboard sound or brown for a super soft sound. Very easy to pick the lighting set up you want. 6 brightness settings, a ton of different options for customizing how your keyboard lights up, and very responsive lighting when you select an option that breathes when you click certain keys. Responsiveness works to a certain point (it only allows for three animations running at one point) but it still looks gorgeous no matter what. Every key works, none of the keys are loose. I switched the stock keys out for some pudding keycaps and they are GORGEOUS on this keyboard. The entire thing is pink, including the cord, which fits with my desk setup very nicely. I added some teal and lilac pudding keycaps and switched the stock keycaps over to another keyboard (that had cherry switches) and everything works perfectly. The only issue I'm running into (and only on certain apps, so it may be more of an application issue than an issue with my keyboard), is that sometimes the 'e' key duplicates or doesn't want to type out the letter. So far as I'm writing this, I haven't had that issue so it may just be with a certain application on my computer causing that. Sidenote, I love that there's two kickstand heights on the back of the keyboard. I don't elevate my keyboard usually but I like the comfort of having it elevated on the smallest kickstand. ... show more

  • Some software issues.
Review 6 months after purchase. I purchased the white Magegee with the red switches. This keyboard is my first mechanical one. I really liked it. Sometimes though the keys would be squeaky. I believe some keys like the spacebar andd others need both lubing and the metal support probably. But I don' know much about modding so I did not do these. They are nice however as a first and inexpensive mechanical keyboard. Issues started happening 6 months in however. First, it would constantly pause and unpause videos in my browser whenver I used the up arrow key. -> So I disabled the browser's keyboard shortcuts. Then, the arrow keys started typing 0 and 2. -> I tried solving this for work by disabling the num pad. It worked. - Now, it opens the calculator when I use the arrows (I type a lot for work, and i simply have to navigate quickly with the arrow keys, I need these). The arrows also do not work all the times. I tried various things, clean boot, disabling FN keys in my bios, nothing works. This only happens with the Magegee keyboard. My laptop's integrated keyboad does not do this. I am currently waiting for the Magegee support, but just in case this factors in for anyone's decision. ... show more

  • It was fun while it lasted.
I got this keyboard awhile back and decided to put it through its paces before I wrote a review on it. I'm glad that I did. I must say, this keyboard is built like a tank. I've never used a heavier keyboard, and I've been using computer keyboards since 1978. After about 1 week, the backlighting went out on it. I checked to see if there were drivers for it, and there are none. And, there are no directions in the box. So I did a more in-depth search on it and saw on a forum that many backlit keyboards use a function+arrow key combination to access the backlighting, This worked for me. Fast-forward to this week. The keyboard stopped working. The backlighting still works, but the computer does not register any key presses. I plugged my HP keyboard into my computer and it works fine. I don't like the HP keyboard because of laptop-style keys. To troubleshoot the problem, I plugged the keyboard into my MacBook Pro. When I plugged it in, the laptop noticed that there was a new keyboard plugged into it, but none of the key presses were registering. Its a shame, because I really like the keyboard--it just died after the 30-day return windows for Amazon. But of course, since there was no documentation with it, there is no warranty. Other than it dying, the only thing that I disliked about it was that on the home row, nearly all keyboards have some kind of nubby, or raised area, on keys "F" and "J" so that touch typists can better find the keys for the index fingers to sit on. This keyboard, the keys are smooth. I would not recommend this keyboard due to lack of documentation and poor quality. ... show more
