I very much like the belt (size, pattern, fit, build quality, etc.), but found the buckle to be a bit much for my taste. Fortunately, I had another buckle, from an old ratchet belt, that fit just fine, and I put that on. I'm happy with it. 4 stars. Good belt.

This is a very classy belt. It's made from real leather and it seems to be a high quality leather. I judge this based on the 'crocodile' exterior surface (not real crocodile of course) and the fact that the belt is quite supple. (cheap leather seems to be very stiff) The buckle has a monogram but it blends into the buckle/belt so the entire 'package' is a subtle, elegant presentation. (see photos) As noted in the Amazon description the belt is adjusted via a racheting mechanism on the back of the buckle - this mechanism has a spring loaded flange that contacts the shallow grooves on the back of the belt. (middle photo). The buckle has a small release button to toggle up the flange and 'unhook' the belt. These grooves on the back of the belt allow the wearer a much more precise adjustment of the tightness of the belt compared to a normal buckle on a belt with holes. Again, this belt seems high quality and has a great appearance as well as a very comfortable fit. Highly recommend!!! ... show more

My big-box belt was showing it's age (they all wear out sooner or later) so I ordered this one. They are very clear that if it's too long, just trim the belt. Here's a tip - take it apart and remove excess from the buckle side rather than trying to trim the finished end. You'll need a small flat-bladed screwdriver to pry up the retainer, which then should allow you to remove the belt from the buckle and trim however much you need to. Once I got it sized correctly, this Macboro belt does a great job of holding up my pants and it looks really sharp doing it. I like that it's much more flexible (size-wise) compared to having holes spaced out every inch or so. Taking it off was intuitive enough that even I could figure it out (another hint though, figure out how it works BEFORE you wear it the first time). The overall design is stylish yet simple, but sturdy enough that I expect this belt will last me for more than long enough that I will have gotten my money's worth out of it. ... show more

I very much like this belt. It has a sturdy construction, and I find both the belt itself, and the buckle, to be quite stylish. Instead of the row of holes used in most belts, this has built-in ratchet that allows you to effortlessly adjust the belt to the exact fit you prefer. I did have one amusing moment with it, when I first got it. I over-tightened the ratchet, and then realized I didn't know how to release it. There was no instruction regarding it, and it took me a moment to find the small latch release lever under the buckle. Once found, it works wonderfully. ... show more
