Description

As you can see, Velvet Teddy looks very creamy when it’s swatched. That’s a great plus in my opinion: most lipsticks with a matte finish like this one are drying on the lips. MAC Velvet Teddy is probably one of the most hydrating matte lipsticks I’ve tried. It also doesn’t accentuate any dry patches on your lips, but I still recommend scrubbing your lips before applying any lippy on them! The colour of MAC Velvet Teddy is very unique in my opinion. It’s a light brown colour with a slight red undertone to it.

Matte lipstick by MAC, is there anything so wonderful? The formula is a staple, not “retro matte” which is dry and chalky on application (I love it, it doesn’t budge) but just “matte.” There’s a wee bit of cream with this formula; it’s comfortable and grippy. I suggest the ozone pencil (also by MAC) underneath to prime. Liner by Buxom in plum works to but isn’t necessary. The color is rich and stunning; heavily pigmented with vivid color payoff. It’s a kind of black cherry red; some may call it wine, but that’s not quite accurate. There’s nothing warm about it. It’s cool, cool and more cool, which I love. So no brick in there at all. I think black cherry is a good description. Like all MAC matte lipsticks, you won’t wear it on your teeth (be sure to allow setting time and blot), it lasts and lasts, reapply after eating. I walked to the mailbox this morning and saw a little box and couldn't think about what I had ordered. Once back home, I opened the box and realized it was the MAC Lipstick! Of course, cute case package nicely in a box. But oh-la-la!!! It spread so luxiously on my lips! I grabbed the quickly to see what ingredients it contained: lanolin, castor seed oil, etc... And the color was straight on point. The price point was a little high but great value for the money and I WOULD DEFINITELY purchase another one in a heartbeat! I had to immediately write a review. Normally I won't or don't like a red lipstick with a cool tone (one that edges on being pink) .. this lipstick in Red Rock is a vibrant red but has the slightest cool hue. I can get away with it, and if I don't want that cool hue to show, then I pop another red on top. The MAC long last lipsticks do what they say, though, and really do last for hours and transfer is minimal.. but overall im.pleased with the product.. buying a lipstick online is always tricky unless you've bought it before and know the colour... and I think sellers should hint at the colour tones in their descriptions to give a better idea of the finished result. This is my favorite lipstick and I recently found out it was discontinued. I'm sad about that! I had to pay extra on Amazon because MAC has discontinued this shade.
