I hate having to spend $27 on mascara. That said, I've tried to find other brands that come somewhat close to Mac and have not had any luck. Other so-called waterproof mascaras end up smudging or severely clumping. Mac is just the best and I'll have to pay.

I love MAC mascara & make up. I ordered Mac mascara a few weeks ago and lost it. I quickly ordered another one and received in a few days. It goes on well & doesn't bunch up in one area. It stays on all day and makes my thinning lashes appear very thick. I also love the applicator.

    • Pretty darn good!
This is the best waterproof mascara I’ve ever used. It still does get applied little too thickly at times, so I do need to use a lash comb. This mascara doesn’t run when I wear sunscreen!! I’m excited about that because that used to happen to me no matter which sunscreen or mascara I used in the past. MAC’s version of this that is not waterproof is also pretty good, and looks a little better than this product, but that version does run when I wear sunscreen, so I’m very grateful to have this product! I remove this mascara each night with mineral oil and facial tissue. Or, I use makeup remover wipes (Costco) if I get lazy, but mineral oil really is the best option to remove this because it will pull much less on the facial skin. ... show more

I bought this to coat my normal mascara to prevent it from flaking. It does the job well. Since my other mascara is not waterproof, they wash off with two gentle cleanings.

    • CLUMPY: tested against Bambi Eye from Loreal
I was hoping that the brush would help the dispersion of the mascara on my lashes since I read this was a great waterproof mascara. First application was great - no clumps, lashes looked nice and natural, although I did have some flaking a few hours into my day. Second application: Completely different: so clumpy and my lashes didn’t look as nice as the first time. Had to do a lot of combing out and needed to use some brow gel to address the flaking. Third application: I purchased “Bambi Eye” from Loreal waterproof mascara on Amazon to test it against. Applied the MAC to my left eye and Bambi Eye to my right eye and the difference was night and day. MAC started to clump immediately and made it almost impossible to build. After the below, I didn’t try anymore with MAC. Bambi Eye had zero clumps, made lashes look fuller, natural and was easy to build (however, Bambi Eye DID NOT make my lashes dramatically full enough to replace my light (Eyelure 003) false lashes). ... show more
