The idea of this piano mat is great and both of my girls love it. This is our second one. On the first one the power switch stopped working. It was loose and when reattached just didn’t sit right likely due to damage from being dropped. On the second one, the inside wiring can bunch when my toddler crumples it and it has gotten stuck that way. I suggest sewing down the inside so it can’t shift. I would also add a non slip bottom for those of us with hard floors. It slides around very easily and can cause a child to fall as they step on it. The idea is great and it works well, but the quality of materials is poor and it does not hold up to long term use well. ... show more

    • Not durable, but fun in the beginning

At first my little one loved this with the sounds, one day he picked it up and the inside is crinkled now like a garbage bag inside the cloth exterior, so it’s weirdly bulky on one side. We’ve tried to get it to flatten out but no luck so far, and since it doesn’t lay fully flat any more it doesn’t play correctly so it’s a mishmash of sounds (music notes, animal sounds, sometimes even when no one is playing with it). It was great in the beginning I guess if you can keep it flat so the inside piece is flat then it would work or if the inside was attached to the shell of the product so it can’t shift around inside. It’s been put away for us for now because it wore out it’s battery with continuously playing songs and animal sounds which was probably better in-the long run because it just became noisy. Maybe better for bigger kids who won’t pick it up and understand it needs to lay flat. My one year old isn’t there yet but was amused in the beginning. ... show more
