  • Great for the price
Color: White-Grey Size: 5×3 FT
I am going to preface this by saying that I half expected some umpalumpas or a small child to come in the box based on the gloves that the company sent to help protect me from the sharp aluminum. While I applaud the effort, those gloves will not fit much of anyone over the age of maybe 10 or the aforementioned umpalumpa. Given they are white cotton, they are also very unlikely to protect you from even the thought of getting cut by this product, but at least the thought is there. TL/DR Summary: You cannot beat this for the price. I saw one roughly the same size and the same material at Lowes™ today and it was $477. If you take decent care of this shed I expect it will last quite a while and if you are creative or good a Tetris™ you can fit a lot in it give the size. Note - this product is completely wrapped in saranwrap on top of being wrapped in plastic in the box. This is a maddening thing that a lot of manufacturers do. Sadly, I did not notice the nearly imperceptible saran wrap on the panels until I was assembling the roof because one small bubble had happened in said wrap. Therefore, the large majority of the shed is still wrapped because I am not going to even try to unwrap it. So, let's talk about assembly - it is rather straightforward and not very complicated IF you follow the directions. That means for those folks that throw the manual aside and go forth because "we know how to do this." I highly recommend you do not. I, even following the instructions, made one small, but easily corrected, mistake. Here is the only place I deviated from the instructions - The backpanel order. Call it whatever you want, but I did not like the way the back panel layout made my OCD brain hurt, so I swapped panel locations and it was fine. Can you assemble it alone? Assuming you didn't get the umpalumpas in your box then, yes you CAN. Here is where I would recommend that you have a person that can help from time to time because you will get to the point where you are putting those handy dandy wall panel nuts and bolts in..... you won't be able to do both sides at the same time unless you're gumby™, stretch armstrong™, or Mrs. Incredible™. Also, if you are less than about 6' 2" you probably want at least a step stool for the front of the shed unless you put it on the ground without any amount of lift to it. You noitce mine is on two pallets that I joined with some plywood and screws, that made it a bit out of reach to the middle of the roof for my 5' 10". If you are building it on a stationary pad I hope that you have room on all sides to fit because you have to secure the base before you can assemble the rest. If you don't leave a lot of space, then I hope you do have a gumby available as it will be interesting. If you are assembling it similar to how I did, just make your level spot and make it a little extra deep and wide so you can move the thing into place after your done. I was not looking for a giant storage shed for all manner of things. I have just what I need for common yard work and nothing else. I used a rubbermaid fasttrack™ along the back wall and I would not recommend that particular track system in this shed. The problem is that the clip part has to go too far back and the wall makes it hard to do that. If you use that system, you will need some standoffs. The good news is that your shed probably came with about 2x as much hardware as necessary to put it together, so you should have extra for your rail. I used the self tappers as I do not plan to hang super heavy items. I would suggest ultrawall garage rack or ncle garage rack as alternative choices that look like they will work better. Fun tidbits - * Those little L shaped things that look sturdy ... they're anything but, so do not get spooked by a yellow jacket and try and swipe at it with that because you will bend your roof edge flashing. I put the bent one in the back after bending it back to mostly in shape. It works fine. * This shed is not sealed, like really not. If you wanted to use 8-15 cans of spray foam to try and seal it I suppose you could, but just understand that and plan accordingly for wasps, spiders, etc. in the long-term or make sure you are treating the shed regularly with insecticide or whatever else to keep them away. * Did I mention this shed is not large? Yes? Ok, let me tell you that I can get my Ryobi One+™ 18V lawnmower, Ryobi One+™ Trimmer/Edger, and Ryobi One+™ Pole saw in there. Along with that I have room for about 5 - 7 other tools. Eventually those tools will be a pointed shovel, flat shovel, a bow rake, a tamper, a hula how, a regular hoe, and a pushbroom/dust pan. It's possible I could also re-organize a little and get a Ryobi One+™ pressure washer in. If I were to put a small shelf to the left of the door on the front wall panel I could probably fit some common garden hand tools as well, but I know me and I would probably hit my head on it when I went to get the Lawnmower. My wife also has a larger gardening shed on the other side of the yard. ... show more

  • What I expected out of a metal shed
Color: Black Size: 10×8 FT
10x8 foot shed So I needed a shed to keep all of my garden and lawn tools and also my kids bikes and scooters out the weather. Poured my own slab to build it on top of so I didn’t have any leveling issues. I had assumed the the floor of the shed was going to be the concrete because there was no mention of a raised floor frame that needs to be covered with plywood, so that’s fun. I guess I’ll just start with the build process to give some pointers on the way. - the pic I attached is the worst of the damage I received. Knew it was inevitable being flimsy sheet metal, but overall I was able to bend most of the dents back into shape - gloves are a joke, fit my 7 year old perfectly. - definitely able to do 95% of the build by myself, only a couple bolts needed to be held while tightening that I couldn’t reach. - concrete anchors were terrible, plastic anchors wouldn’t hold when they were screwed into. Plan on putting metal clips around the base and buy my own anchors - instructions are pretty clear even though the pics are not. Although, had to reposition the frame a couple times since there were some pre drilled holes that were supposed to be on one end and not the other. Only found that out when I went to attach the piece and hole wasn’t there that was mentioned. - the plastic wrap on the sheet metal. I saw a bunch of reviews that complained about it but I know they would be the same people leaving negative reviews about the scratches that would be on everything. Yes it’s a pain on some of the items to peel off, but necessary. - roof went together easily until you get to the last panel. Only way to reach the screws in the middle is to halfway crawl on the roof. I’m a bigger guy, so I had to position my knee on one of the frame bars and my hand on the other and reach like crazy. Any weight shifted to an unsupported section of the roof panel, and it would instantly dent. Even with my weight on the frame pieces, I still left imprints. So when I had to install the center pice on the roof, it definitely took the longest with how careful I had to be. - I think my biggest complaint/concern is that most of the screws for the roof and the eaves had little to no “bite” when screwing them in. Worried they won’t hold well if we get a decent storm in our area. - hardware provided was also a little puzzling. Obviously with the screws and washers being as small as they are I figured I would drop a few and lose them, assuming there’s extra since there’s always extra. I was short by 3 screws on the door lock (the last step) which wasn’t a problem since I had some screws that worked. But I had about 20 extra bolts and 50 extra washers. I looked back through the manual to make sure I didn’t swap some bolts for screws. Just puzzling to say the least. - door clips for the top and bottom took a bunch of adjusting to make them work, also feel like they’re made of plastic. - last thing I did which wasn’t mentioned, was seal the gaps in the roofline and floor with some gap filler foam. Also glued some window screen material around the front and back vents to help keep bugs and rodents out. Overall I am very pleased for a $550 shed. Pretty much what I expected. ... show more
