About Water-resistant Watches Water Resistant Watches are sealed to withstand some pressure. Water resistance is tested in measurements of atmosphere (ATM). Each ATM denotes 10 meters of static water pressure. This is not the depth to which a watch can be worn. Many watch cases will list the basic measurement of 1 ATM as "water-resistant." These watches will withstand small splashes of water but should not be worn while washing the hands or submerging the hands in water. Remember, water resistance is tested under static conditions. Wearing a watch which is 50 metres water resistant to water will expose the watch to a much greater pressure than during a 50-metre static test. Therefore the number of metres shown on the watch does not indicate the depth that the watch can be taken to. Here is a general guide 50M = 5ATM = Shower Proof - it's ok to get it wet a bit. 100M = 10ATM = Extended Water Exposure good for swimming or snorkeling. 200M = 20ATM = Pressure Resistant made for Scuba and Skin Diving.

For $15-17 bucks … geez - i love this watch. I had certain criteria; alarm, waterproof, comfortable, light weight and big numbers so i don’t need my readers to see what time it is. Freaking Garmin … no more of that bs. I walked into REI one day ages ago after my Garmin bit the dust … probably looking to get some repair or warranty info - they stopped me dead in my trax, “sorry, we can’t do anything”. Eff ‘em. I’ll keep track of my miles on Strava on my iPhone. I also love the double hinge/strap holes on this unit … takes me back to the 70’s. For the price - it’s awesome and it’s worked flawlessly for 18 months. Me? I got plenty of cash .. but spending 650 on a garmin and then it shits the bed - no thanks. People ask me … is that a Garmin … i say, yes … this is a $800 watch. Then i say, “no it ain’t … it fifteen bucks on Amazon” ... show more

Ive never been a cheap watch kinda guy, normaly $200-$400 watch on my wrist. Got this one for yard work. It is super easy to read at a glance and the seconds do not crowed the minuts.the watch feels sturdy and not cheep. the light is nice to. Now Lets see how long it lasts.

I switched from the tried-and-true Casio F91W-1. The difference is the way wrist strap is attached to the watch. On an F91W it is with pins, this is screwed into place. Due to my line of work, whatever watch I'm wearing gets A LOT of abuse. The pins would always on the Casio. They are so cheap I would just buy another one. The way the band is screwed into place that is not a problem with this watch. I had been going through several Casios a year. This has held up for 10-months. Aside from that, it has all the basic features you would expect and is easy to use while being easy enough to program without reading the manual. Also, it looks great. ... show more

My cheap Timex watch broke 2 weeks ago. I searched through many watches on Amazon and ordered. The first one, I could hardly see the screen unless I pressed the light button. No good. Sent it back. The second one was nice, but the seconds were crowded in right next to the hours and minutes, the same size. It made the screen a bit confusing. I'd have to constantly do a double take to ascertain what time it was. I hardly ever need to look at the seconds. Sent that back, too. I want a cheap watch that keeps decent time, has a nice secure strap, and, most importantly, has an easy-to-read screen I can just glance at quickly and know the time. Bingo.
