The veneer was chipped and bubbled, inside dimensions were hampered by strut and overly large braces. I had to reengineer the whole thing. I would have returned it, but I'd have to drive 30 miles to UPS. I got it working but have to cover the ugly chips and bubbles. I've bought a lot of items from Amazon and this was the most disappointing.

I got this to store things in as a shelf and am happy with it overall but think there is some room for improvement. The shelf is built to an acceptable standard given the price range and functions how it is intended to. The hidden compartment does drop fairly fast/hard, but I think that is intended to be a feature rather than a flaw. I wasn't a big fan of how the shelf mounted (decorative L brackets on the surface of the shelf), so I floated it by drilling holes into the back of the shelf. I think it would be a better design in general as a floated shelf. The only other thing that I wasn't a huge fan of was the foam insert didn't take up as much space as it should have - there are empty voids of space. Overall I'm happy with the shelf though and for the price would be fine recommending it to others.

I got this gun shelf because who doesn't love secret compartments? At first glance, it looks like a normal shelf, but it has a cool, James Bond vibe. The automatic lock operates smoothly, making you feel pretty awesome. It's sturdy, although I did have some mild frustrations during installation with my drywall. The storage space is smaller than I anticipated, but it still fits the essentials nicely. Overall, it's great for discreet home defense setups.
