It is washable and retains it's shape and texture after washing. It is not very thick, but I spent $5 on a carpet pad from a local carpet store and cut to fit. So great! It doesn’t shed (much) it’s really soft, and looks great wherever you place it! Edit. 06/28/2021 the rug is holding up really well. I wash it in my front load washer, and dry in the dryer on regular basis. It stopped shedding entirely a while ago, and it still looks beautiful. Now it’s less fluffy, but nevertheless worth the money, and it’s still pretty good looking. ... show more

I really thought about buying real cow hide rugs. But I didn’t want to spend the money to have one of my dogs chew it up. I looked at the reviews. It was highly rated and now I know why. It looks good for not being real. I have dogs & four grand babies. The fact that I can put this under our dining room table AND it is washable makes me so happy!! I can’t post a pic. Although it was a good size, it was not big enough (we have a looonnngg table). For the price & quality I am happy to order a second rug ( already have) to cover our dining room. They were a bit smaller than expected, but beautiful. I ordered another one to layer for our baby’s nursery and it’s perfect. I have another one similar and I was able to throw it in the washer and dryer with zero issues so I hope these are similar. Great purchase!

The brown colors of the rug are actually darker in person. I was hoping for it to be true to the photos. Also, it did shed some clumps of fluff that I found around where I laid it out. But otherwise it was a soft rug, just not exactly what I was looking for. Bought this for my daughters bedroom a year ago...For the price I was expecting a bit cheaply made, but it was so soft & seemed durable. No fibers come out when vacuuming, but just from being a year old, its terribly matted down & looks old & used now. Disappointed.
