I’ve been using the 4040 PRO CNC for a few weeks now, and I’m seriously impressed. It handles soft woods like a champ, and the 100W motor has plenty of power for all my basic woodworking needs. The upgraded Z-axis with linear rails and a ball screw offers way more stability and precision compared to machines with standard T-screws and rods. Cuts are clean and reliable—even on longer jobs. Assembly was incredibly fast—I had the whole thing set up and ready to go in under 20 minutes. Everything was clearly labeled, and the instructions were so intuitive I barely needed them. Definitely one of the easiest CNC builds I’ve done. Great for beginners. One of the things I really liked is the dust guard design. The side shields help keep the work area clean, and the magnetic front and rear panels are super convenient. They snap on and off quickly when I need to load or remove materials, no tools needed. The upgraded Z-axis design also feels very premium for this price range. I was also concerned about the MDF spoilboard warping over time, but they added reinforcement underneath and it’s holding up perfectly. The whole machine feels solid and stable—no wobble or flex, even during extended jobs. The control board has both 12V and 48V outputs, which is a great touch if I ever want to upgrade the spindle. Plus, since it runs on GRBL, it works seamlessly with my favorite open-source software. That makes it beginner-friendly and very flexible. Bottom line: this thing is awesome. Easy to build, easy to use, and packed with smart little features. If you’re thinking about getting into CNC or want to upgrade from a smaller machine, I’d say go for it. Totally worth it.

Here is an update to my review. I did finally hear back from Lunyee. Apparently a Chinese holiday had most people out of the office. They apologized for the slow response and offered to fix the machine. If they had taken care of the problem quickly, I think I would have been satisfied with this machine. I will cut to the chase. I had to send this machine back. In a nutshell, I could get no product support from Lunyee. After I assembled the machine, I ran some tests that were required to register the machine with Easel software. It failed the X-axis motion test because it got physically stuck during the test. I took a video of the problem and reached out to Lunyee customer support using the contact information supplied with the machine. Long story short; four emails and one phone call (phone number is out of service) and I got no response from Lunyee. Amazon customer service was great. Once it was apparent Lunyee was not responding, they issued a full refund. I just lost the time I put in assembling and testing the machine.

Good machine for the price. Customer Service is excellent! They always respond the next day due to the time difference. I have had their 3018 for over a year and that machine is great. I decided that I wanted a larger work surface so I opted for the 4040 Pro. If you want linear rails, thought, you should go with the 4040 turbo. This company really takes care of their customers.

I purchases the Luynee 4040 Pro for my father recently as a gift, as he has always wanted one. We recived the machine, only to discover that we could not get it to cut properly. We spent so many hours trying to figure out what we were doing wring ad the machine would only go in a straight line and not left to right. Finally I hired someone to come and take a look at the machine, only to discover that it is the motor. Well I habr reached out to their cutomer service requesting a replacment motor or a shipping label to send the machine back for a full refund. We will see how this goes!!!!! Hello, I would like to give you ll an update. After I posted the above review, Monica from Luynee Support contacted us and was very gracious to offer us support with our Luynee 4040 Pro and stayed in constant contact with us until our machine was up and running. Also, because of the issues that my father and I had, Monica was so kind and enclosed a gift to my father. As of today, my father’s Luynee 4040 Pro is up and running as well as the laser! My father is so happy and now being kept occupied. I have turned the living room into his wood shop, placing his CNC in front of the window so that he can still look outside (my father will be 82 in January). I still need to get a couple things like that air thing so that we the living does not smell like smoke, lol lol and now he wants the tumbler turner, so it looks like I will be a long term customer of Luynee! I do wish that I could give 5 stars, but because of the issues and honestly the fact that the machine really needs to come with a lot more indepth instructions and shipping takes a while. As I said, my father is very happy, which makes me happy!

I have bought this CNC Router so that I can have a bigger work area and the size is 400x400. I‘m very familiar with the LUNYEE Product line because I also have a 3018 pro max machine for smaller projects. I like that is very sturdy build. Easy to assemble and easy to use with the software provided. I also use the easel software to complete my work. The functionality is great especially with the 2 fences. The value for this Machine is there ist is a good beginner piece to learn how a CNC machine work and what projects you can do. Next item on my list is a laser CNC machine.

The 24v spindle went out 2 days after first use. Checked the power set up and it was good. Contacted customer support. The fix they supplied did not work. I bought an additional pwm and a power supply from a third party. That was the only way that the supplied spindle would work. Happy with everything else.

Great Customer Service! When I first received my CNC Router I was having problems getting it powered up properly. A Lunyee support person stayed with me and we got the machine up and running. I'm a beginner at this and I know I'm going to have a lot of fun with this machine.
