I’ve been really impressed with the Lunyee 4040 CNC machine. Assembly was straightforward, and everything fit together well. It took less than 30 minutes to get it put together. Once it was dialed in, it produced clean, accurate cuts, with very little tweaking. The frame feels sturdy, the motion is smooth, and the machine has been reliable during longer jobs. It’s a great balance between price and performance, especially if you’re getting into CNC or want a capable machine for a home workshop. There are plenty of upgrade options, and it’s compatible with common CAM software, which makes it easy to grow with your projects. Overall, this machine exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a solid desktop CNC that delivers consistent results without breaking the bank, I highly recommend the Lunyee 4040. Five stars. ... show more

Before I got this one, I had purchased the Lunyee 3020 Nova CNC router. I was very happy with it and used it a lot. However, I wanted something a bit bigger with a different type of base. So I got the Lunyee 4040 Pro Max and I am happy I did. The initial setup is not bad at all. The instructions are complete and fairly easy to follow. I only made one mistake and it was an easy fix. Once you put it together, there are links to the different software packages you can use, as well as, a USB drive with some basic drivers. You technically don't have to connect it to a computer to use it as it has a USB port, but that would be challenging to do and I don' t recommend it. I have a small, inexpensive, laptop that I have connected to the CNC to run the software and make any last minute adjustments. It is networked so that I can create on a different computer and simply download the files to the CNC computer when I am ready. The Lunyee CNC machine runs off of standard GRBL code and that makes it easy to use. There are several free and not so free software packages that support this format. One of the bigger selling points of this machine is the larger size and how it is set up. You can take off the front and back acrylic dust panels and swing the control module out of the way so that you can engrave very large projects. As long at the project is no wider then 15.74, the length can be infinite. Another selling point was the attached lighting strip. It makes it easy to see what you are doing. The machine is well made and very durable. It stays in place and doesn't move around when working. The baseboard is masic MDF and can be easily replaced when needed. It includes evenly spaced recessed nuts so that you can install holds to keep your project from moving. However, I prefer to use the tape/superglue method. It cuts well and is very acurate. I have had no problems with the overall operation of the unit at all. One of the reasons I have got a second one. Now for a couple of interesting points. -First, the router chuck only accepts 1/8" bits. I find this really strange because my smaller Lunyee 4020 CNC has a different router that accepted 1/4" bits. They are both 800w and have the same speeds but this one only takes the smaller bits. Not really a problem for me, but I thought it was strange. -Second, it says it has a 6 speed control going from 10,000 to 30,000 rpm and the store page pictures shows a very confusing photo the the router numbers going from 1 to 6. However, it never tells you what speeds are references my the number 1-6. Third, the customer support is helpful, but slow. Every time I have reached out to them they wouldn't talk to me unless I provided them with all of my purchase information. It usually took at least a day or 2 to respond.     • A serious upgrade for anyone ready to step beyond a smaller desktop CNC
I've been using this machine for a couple of weeks now and I am really impressed with the 4040 Pro Max. The 400 x 400mm work area gives you plenty of room for larger signs, carvings, trays, and other woodworking projects, while the reinforced frame and linear guide system make this machine exceptionally stable during operation. It feels solid and planted when cutting, which is especially important when you're working with harder materials or running deeper cuts. The 800W router provides plenty of power for wood, MDF, acrylic, plastics, and lighter aluminum work, while the ball screw Z axis provides smooth and precise vertical movement. The machine comes largely pre assembled, which makes getting started much easier, and the overall construction feels significantly more substantial than I expected at this price. I also like the dust protection around the moving components and the magnetic acrylic panels, which help keep the machine and workspace cleaner. There is a learning curve with any CNC, and I would have liked more detailed documentation, but once you get familiar with the workflow, the capability here is impressive. The combination of stability, build quality, cutting area, router power, and versatility makes this an extremely capable machine for a home workshop. At this price point, you'd be hard pressed to find another desktop CNC that offers this much capability and such a solid platform for the money. ... show more
