We purchased a stool to test the comfort of the seat and examine the design before assembling it. Had it not met our needs, we would have returned it. However, it was just what we hoped for, so we assembled it and bought two more for our bar. We shopped at Scandinavian Design, West Elm, and Room and Board and found nothing with the design and comfort of these stools. And these were so much more affordable! These are comfy and were pretty easy to put together. The instructions weren't terrific but common sense prevailed. They are comfy and fit perfectly under my kitchen ledge so that I can sit there an eat. I also wanted them so that when I am entertaining, my friends can come into the kitchen and sit down while I finish the prep.

Used these to replace some $400 West Elm bar stools that were similar in style and that had broken after using for just a couple years. These don't have as much cushion but are a lot sturdier in construction. Spins around really smoothly, comfy enough, look pretty great in person and I don't feel like the back will fall off any minute. I'll never have to buy overpriced crap from West Elm again.
