Description

The 3000 EVO Series Honors the Watch that Started it all. Back in 1994, Luminox developed a watch with the SEALs, listening to their needs and working together with them to create the ultimate timepiece. The result was the Navy SEAL 3001, the only watch officially licensed by the US Navy and created with their authorization and approval. Today, many Navy SEALs wear this watch as they perform operations around the world. Luminox reintroduces the watch that started it all. Water-resistant to 200 meters, the 3001 EVO watches are available in three different variations: Navy Blue, Old Radium, and Black Out. Powered by a sophisticated and extremely precise Swiss Made quartz movement, the textured dials feature a date aperture at 3 oclock. The shaped hands are equipped with Luminox Light Technology, including the second hand, which is red-tipped for additional visibility. The luminous tubes are on each of the hour markers, as well as at 12 oclock on the unidirectional turning bezel, so you will always be able to see this timepiece, no matter the conditions. The Old Radium color-way is a nostalgic nod to a time when all luminous watches were accomplished with Radium, a material with a unique glow that was phased out of watch production in 1968. Features: Origin: Swiss Made Always Visible: Constant glow for up to 25 years Size of case (diameter): 43 mm Function: Time Date Water resistance (meters, feet, ATM): 200 / 660 / 20 Movement: Swiss Quartz Case material: CARBONOX Bezel: Uni-directional rotating Case back: 316L Stainless steel screw in Crystal glass material: Hardened mineral crystal (550-650 Vickers) Crown: Screw in, double security gasket, crown protected Strap / bracelet: Genuine rubber Lug width: 21 mm Case height: 13 mm Weight: 50 g Case and dial The Old Radium color-way is a nostalgic nod to a time when all luminous watches were accomplished with Radium, a material with a unique glow that was phased out of watch production in 1968. The shaped hands are equipped with Luminox Light Technology in green and orange, including the second hand, which is red-tipped for additional visibility. Case and bezel are made from CARBONOX, which is 6 times lighter than steel and 3 times lighter than titanium. This material is shock and scratch resistant as well as extremely comfortable to wear

  • Durable, all around good watch, easy to tell time with just a glance.
Size: 43mm Color: Black
Great watch, pretty rugged, easy to tell time in the dark. Probably the third one I've owned in the last 30 years. It is actually waterproof. Comfortable strap. great for everyday use. Good size, not too big.

  • Great everyday tool watch Great everyday tool watch
Size: 43mm Color: Black
I love this watch. I’m a 12-year Army Infantry veteran now working in construction, so I’ve put plenty of gear through real-world abuse. During my time in service, I ran Suunto, G-Shock, and occasionally a Breitling. I’d known about Luminox for years but never pulled the trigger—until about a week ago after doing a lot of research. I’m glad I did. I’ve seen some criticism from people used to heavier luxury watches with ultra-bright illumination (similar to my Breitling). They don’t like how lightweight this watch feels—but that’s kind of the point. This watch was designed with input from active-duty military personnel. If you’ve ever served, you understand the value of gear that’s lightweight, durable, and doesn’t get in your way. This isn’t trying to be a flashy luxury piece—it’s a purpose-built tool watch with a clean, professional look. And it nails that role. If you’re willing to spend $300+ on a tough, Swiss-made everyday watch and want something more refined than a G-Shock, just buy this one. ... show more

  • Great looking watch that can endure anything
Size: 44mm Color: Black|White - XS.3051.F
I was a little weary on spending this much on a sports watch, but once I received it in the mail I was more than happy I did. I have quite a lot of expensive watches and I wanted one that I could wear doing various outdoor activities that would normally give unwanted wear to my expensive watches. I have had G-shocks and they have either broken after time or didn't have the look I wanted. This watch looks great with any clothes, from casual to business attire. The size is great because I dislike oversized watches and a lot of watches now are so over sized they are bigger than the wrists they are around. The Luminox brand has clearly been a brand well known for their durability, specific style, and reliability. The number illuminate great when dark and don't need to be charged by a light source. My past g-shocks often had a built in light that either went bad or was far to bright when I pressed it to light up. Also you don't need to press anything to light it, it does it automatically so when I'm hunting or scuba diving all I have to do is glance at my wrist and I will immediately know the exact time as well as how long I have been down (because of the bezel which rotates keep track of time). I would recommend this watch to everyone that wants a stylish watch that can endure anything you throw at it. I got in the mail with in 4 days and it was packaged very well. It came with a nice zip up travel case to store it in ( even though you can just throw it in the bottom of your suit case if you aren't wearing it because it is probably more durable than the luggage you are putting it in). This will be the last sports watch you buy because once you wear it once, you will not want to switch to any other watch. ... show more

  • The watch does what it needs to and does it well! I just can't change what works.
Size: 44mm Color: Black|White - XS.3051.F
Luminox Over the last 20 years I have purchased 3 Luminox watches, each time I had considered other outdoor types and brands. Much more technical brands. Each time I end up buying Luminox simply because they work! I mentioned simple only because all I need out of a watch is to tell time all day and all hours of the night. My first and second watch was the model 3001, my last purchase was the model 3051, it’s a large face, with bigger numbers. I was much younger with the first two models and now at 56yrs I don’t see as well, so the bigger brighter 3051 I’m a happy time keeper. I must mention I self-guide hunt and fish about 90 days a year, much of my time is spent in the remote bush of Alaska and the lower 48 rocky mountains. Although most of my time revolves solely around when the sunrises and sets I still heavily depend on my watch for constant accurate time. I never leave home without a fresh battery so I have never had trouble with it dying in the field. I don’t need a watch with altimeter, elevation, weather forecast I have less to go wrong and far less head ache, I carry a good Garmin GPS 64st for that…much more accurate!
By the way my last watch, I had for 3 years and it just stopped, fresh batteries didn’t help:( So my search began for the next latest and greatest of 2018, there’s lots out there, but I end up with what works, I simply didn’t want to take the chance with something going wrong. Note: The latest Luminox purchase is the 3051 EVO Navy Seal, its easy to see in the dark (Nice and bright) for daylight viewing with the larger numbers I can tell time at a glance. By the way night viewing, the watch seems to have a 3D effect or magnification effect. I don’t expect my watch to last for ever as I’m pretty rough on them, I just expect it to work. • Inconsistent with marketing specifications
Size: 44mm Color: Black|White - XS.3051.F
I have owned this watch for a little over 2 years. I wanted a watch that I could wear on a daily basis, i.e., waterproof, designed to withstand my active lifestyle, made of high quality materials, lightweight and aesthetically appealing. For me, this watch, the Luminox 3051 EVO seemed to check all of those boxes. In addition, I was familiar with the Luminox brand and was impressed by their excellent reputation as a tool utilized by some members of the U.S. Military, specifically the Navy SEALs, which Luminox touted as a main marketing point, going so far as to engrave the Trident insignia on the back of the casing of some models, including the 3051 EVO. At nearly $250, this was a significant investment for me, a young college student, but an investment I felt comfortable with given all of the aforementioned information, but most importantly because I knew Luminox offered a 2 year warranty on their products. I made the purchase and it arrived in what seemed to be all of the original Luminox packaging with the associated documentation and protective pill shaped case. however, upon closer inspection the very first thing that I noticed was that the markings on the rotating bezel were not in perfect alignment with the numerical markings on the watch face. I was further disappointed when I observed the illuminating markings on the rotating bezel. The linear marking at the 12 o'clock position was not in perfect alignment, nor was it straight vertical line as was intended. This was immediately noticeable as this specific markingwas distinguished from the other illuminated reference points by not only glowing in a different color, but also buy its linear, 6-to-12 o'clock orientation and a small circular piece of plastic that rose of out of the bezel and surrounded the marker. Within 90 days via 4 mentioned circular boundary begin to show signs of extreme wear, appearing bent inwards which further contributed to the slanted disorientation of the associated illuminating marker. Within a year, the original rubber band that the watch shipped with broke, ripping at the attachment point to the case. I wore this watch to class, to the gym, and while working in the operating room of the local hospital. There is no significant where or abuse that could be cited as the reason for the failure of the watch band. I replace the band and put off contacting luminox about replacing the original band as I was busy with my studies and work. Then, about 6 months ago, after only owning the watch for roughly 19 months, I noticed that some water had gotten into the case after I had gotten out of the pool one morning. I swam while wearing this watch on a pretty regular basis as it was a part of my morning workout. It should be noted that the watch was not dropped or slammed up against anything, no extraordinary event that would have compromised the structural integrity had occurred around this time, nor any other time to my recollection. I never considered swimming with the watch to be an issue as the watch was marketed to be water-resistant up to 200 m; approximately two orders of magnitude greater than the maximum depth I observed while swimming in the morning. Within 6 hours, the characteristic white markings on the face turned to a yellowish color and further discoloration and deformity ensued over time. Attempted to contact the seller, decor plus, but never received a response. I then contacted Luminox, and at the time The watch was within 2 year warranty. However, the passed the buck as they said that they were not responsible because I did not buy the watch from them directly. Finally, I contacted Amazon I'm currently awaiting a decision by the escalations department to determine if I deserve a refund. I'm very disappointed with the product as it was a significant investment and was touted as a water resistant, warrior-approved, precise Swiss made Time piece, yet nearly none of those things were consistent with my personal experience. I cannot say for sure whether or not this was an official Luminox watch or a replica. Despite this fact, I would not recommend buying this product, at least not through a third party. It is my hope that Amazon can provide some explanation and perhaps compensation as I feel it is the only right thing to do. ... show more

  • Honest Review for the 'Luminox' 3050/3950 Series Swiss Made watch.
Size: 44mm Color: Black|White - XS.3051.F
First, I would like to say that as a certified law enforcement employee, I was attracted to this watch due to all the advertisement of it on Police magazines, word of mouth, and the Tritium gas tubes that Luminox is most famous for (The Tritium used for our issued firearms' sight illumination). That being said, I found a black with white numerical Luminox 3050/3950 Series watch on Amazon priced fairly low, so I ordered it. Two days later, I received the watch, which was packaged very well and opened it up. The case was very wonderfully made, definitely one of those cases that you don't toss away! So, after unzipping the case, I found my Luminox watch as described, with an informational booklet. The watches' band is made of a rubberish material (a "must" in my line of work since a metal band would just break off with physical contact) and the watch contains small Tritium gas tubes on all numericals and the watches' arms. In the dark, the Tritium on the numericals and second hand glow a dark blueish color (except for the '12' numerical) and the hour/minute arms glow a greenish color. Even though you can see the Tritium easily in complete darkness, it isn't as bright as one would expect during the dusk hours...however, this can be seen as a positive to the watch because for being a 'tactical' type watch, the LAST thing you want is bright illumination coming from your wrist! Speaking of which, I LOVE the way the Tritium and numericals are "deep" underneath the upper glass portion of the watch so that the illumination can only be seen by looking straight at the watch, and not from the sides (Another good tactical point). The only complaint I have of this watch is that when I received it, the second hand kept "freezing" every now and then, causing the time to always be off when I needed it (There are many, MANY complaints about this all over the internet!). At first, I was pissed, thinking I received a returned non-functional watch, but after some common sense (Alot of the people on the internet apparently haven't thought about this yet) and confirmation on the instructional booklet about the battery dying after about a year, I prayed that this was only a battery problem and took the watch to Walmart for a new battery...Six dollars later, my watch has not skipped a second at all! So that being said, I am overall happy and excited about this watch and hope my review has helped you decide on whether or not this watch is for you. I am ending my review with a Good/Bad Points on the watch for quick reviewing pleasure. Thank you... GOOD POINT - Extremely light-weight Carbon casing - Mineral Crystak glass (Mostly scratch resistant) - Alleged 200 meter water resistant (Cannot prove this, since I don't dive, but I have taken showers with the watch on and have not had any problems) - Swiss made - Navy Seals logo on the back of the watch (Showing your U.S. Pride and respect for the elite Seals) - Dual colored (blue and green) Tritium illumination (up to 25 year glow illumination life!) - Easy to read numericals BAD POINT - Recieved the watch with low battery power (Not Luminox' fault) - Thickness (the watch's comes up about half an inch off your wrist). But some people prefer "big watches" anyways. - Price Tag (I wouldn't pay $250+ for this watch) ... show more

  • A truly dependable watch A truly dependable watch
Size: 44mm Color: Black|White - XS.3051.F
I purchased this watch 2 years ago because of the good reputation of Luminox for making dependable, reliable and stylish watches. My goal was to get a watch that could find its way at a dinner party and also feel at ease deep down in a Southern California desert canyon. It's got class and a demeanor that seems to be saying "let's go explore". From one out of several other action watches, this watch quickly became my favorite and a travel companion -- a trusted partner. I use it every day: at work, on the trail, on my bike, across borders and oceans. Here are some things that made me fall in love with it over time. The look is sharp and unapologetic, reminiscent of aviation instruments with big, bold numerals and fat dials. Sizable, yet without the monstrous proportions of too many modern watches. The rotating bezel is firm and stays securely in its place, making it a very useful countdown instrument. Time awareness saved my life when I got lost in the Indio hills (and to make perfect boiled eggs). The glow is peerless: you will see time no matter how dark it is outside, whether the watch has been sitting in a closet (God forbid) for months. You will see the light: I say that's fantastic. Timekeeping: flawless (I only adjust time across time zones). Battery life: 2 years and counting with a stock battery. Date: easy to adjust every other month (31 days manual setting). No watch is perfect and this one is no exception: the rubber strap wears out somehow quickly (one of the smaller bands left off during a skydive and the pins got loose a couple time playing catch football) and the dials do not perfectly line up with the digits. If you're on the lookout to purchase a watch that's as handsomely rugged as it is practical, you may want to consider that one. To me, there is no one like it. Thanks for reading my review! I wish you many years of adventure with your new time piece. The world is awaiting! ... show more

  • Excellent watch for the money!
Size: 44mm Color: Black|White - XS.3051.F
I absolutely love this watch for the money. I typically wear a Tag Heur titanium and carbon fiber watch - there is no comparison between a $3000 watch with an 8 year lithium battery and this watch. That said, this watch is maximum bang for the buck. My son was shopping for a Casio G Shock this summer which he ultimately bought, we explored other options and tried this one on at an Orvis retail store. I was impressed by the quality, weight (lack thereof) and presentation (gorgeous little sunglasses like Luminox case). I couldn't get this piece off of my radar, I was fully prepared to pay the $319 asking price for it at most of the big stores: Orvis, Cabela's ... Much to my surprise I found the Blackout version on sale on Black Friday and purchased it for about half that. After receiving the Blackout version (watch is totally blacked out, no white anything - like a tactical version), I still wanted this one. Amazon threw me another bone with another awesome watch sale just before Christmas - now I own two, and I purchased them for less than the cost of one at the full asking price. I just love them and have received many compliments on them. My son borrows mine all the time - ah, what happened to your G Shock??? Just kidding, he's welcome to it and his G Shock is really nice too, its solar, sets itself every midnight... I also have had nice Seiko's and currently have a Suunto Mountaineering watch. I like the Luminox for their simplicity and class. Treat yourself to the YouTube video called: Luminox Production, its wild seeing the Swiss workers placing the 25 year gas tubes and subjecting the watches to the battery of tests. It'll make you proud to own one or it'll make you purchase one or another in my case. One thing I must mention, if you buy from Amazon - make sure the watch comes from Amazon - it'll come with a two year warranty, I've read many horror stories in the reviews about Luminox purchased from other vendors on Amazon to have great difficulties with warranty work. Hope this helps, enjoy! ... show more
