What a fabulous innovation! Love these lights. Fully controllable brightness, contrast, colour and effects from the app. And so thin, they disappear into the ceiling. They hardly use any power while illuminating 780 lumens even from the 4” units. The RGBAI have a very modern look, we’re easy to install (thin power unit boxes for easier tucking into ceiling and all ready to fix in the ceiling holes) and the app was pre-configured with tons of light effect ideas while also being completely configurable. The colours uplight rather than shine down, while the usual yellow to daylight settings all shine down, allowing for a softer lighting at night and naturally brighter during the day.     • Very Bright but Difficult to Install

The media could not be loaded. The Good: - The light is VERY bright and will easily illuminate a sizable room. The color temperature is variable so you can choose the warmth of the light itself, as well as 1%-100% brightness. - The app is easy to use and set up, gives you lots of pre-made options for lighting effects and allows you to make custom ones. - There's lots of fun features for music reactivity, scheduling, timers, zone control, etc. - Decently priced. The Bad: - With most ceiling lights the full process of putting in a new one is unwiring the old one, take it out, connect the 3 wires to the correct inputs and put the light in. - With the Lumary light, you need to replace the entire electrical box in order to install the light instead of just wiring it directly into the existing box. While this is a bit annoying to do, especially with older houses with outdated wiring, it's not the hardest job in the world, but you absolutely need to have some experience with cutting drywall and connecting wiring for lights. It's a pain to cut out an 8 inch hole in your ceiling and completely replace the electrical box, especially if you're going to be doing this for multiple lights. Overall, it's not a bad light, in fact it's very GOOD. But I can't help but think the setup process could eliminate the need for including another electrical box. I don't know the engineering behind it, maybe it is necessary, but I think it's a big hurdle for the average consumer to have to get over. That being said, it's pretty easy to just hire an electrician to get any amount of lights installed for you if you're not experienced enough to do it yourself, so it's not that big of a negative. ... show more

    • Great looking lights with a lot of options!

I have about 7 color changing down-lights made by Lumary for our home theater and I love them. When I saw the RGB ring + down-light version I wanted to try them for another room we have and got about 4 of these new style lights. While they all installed well at first, two of the four did not work in a variety of ways. One had issue with the wifi connection and the other one had an issue with the auxiliary rgb ring not activating. I contacted Amazon support but they were unable to help… Fortunately, Lumary support is easy and they provide a helpful customer service and offered to send me two replacements. One replacement worked well and the other one works sometimes and other times it loses connection. They have been helpful in assisting so far with a replacement of that one that isn’t working quite as well. Overall I really like the lights but I usually only use the auxiliary lights. It can be a bit of a challenge getting them to change color with Alexa but after adding all of the “color switch” (which is what they are called) lights manually to a group in the Alexa app, now I can control the color with a simple “Change the group name to ___color choice___.” It works as long as the light has a good wifi connection going to it and I’m hoping this next replacement will solve that issue.
