Well the reviews aren’t kidding, it is quite a task getting this together. If it’s worth it I’m not sure yet, I’ll add to my review after I’ve used it for a while. When you take the compressed filled beanbag out of the box and zippered blue case (which is difficult), pull the plastic bag out from around the block. Then pull the fabric of the beanbag out. At this point you can open the beanbag and look in to see the block of foam. I left it for 6 hours before I started removing chunks of the block. Doing so, the block got bigger and a bit easier to break apart than it was right out of the box. You will get foam everywhere. And there are crinkling plastic pieces mixed in with the foam occasionally that you want to take out. I had a small pile of them. Do it on carpet if you can so you can vacuum the foam up, sweeping won’t work because it sticks to everything. Don’t be afraid to throw the beanbag around but be careful jumping on it when you’re breaking up the fill, I almost rolled my ankle doing so because there were big chunks left. You really need to break them up with your hands. The entire thing including vacuuming up the mess took me an hour (minus the 6 hrs to let it inflate slightly before pulling it apart). It’s gotten bigger since I’ve finished. This pic is taken 6 hours after I was done. I am occasionally fluffing it by picking it up and shaking/dropping it on the ground on both sides. This thing is huge. It’s comfortable but not super comfortable. It’s no love sac. It’s pretty firm. But I will update after more use, just wanted to get some helpful tips out there! ... show more

My boyfriend purchased me the 6 foot black new bag for Christmas because I hate our couch and he wants me to hang out in the living room while he games. When first unboxing the bean bag the packaging was stupid because the plastic was stuck in the zipper and took a while to get unstuck but once it was out , not too bad. It came in a cube shaped that took my boyfriend probably 30 minutes to rip the foam apart then we just kept jumping and running in place on it to keep breaking it up. By the next morning it was fully expanded! It’s very comfy! But I do have to agree on the smell, at first I thought my cat snuck onto it and did something nasty but then quickly realized it was the foam smelling like that. (The guy who commented if you have a dog and you know the anal gland secretion smell, smells just like that!!!GROSS) but I only notice it when I plop into it and then I think I go nose blind to it after 10-15 minutes. I tried the cover and I like it alot but I think it held in the smell more so I took the cover off again to wash it and try and let the foam air out more. I googled it and says can take up to 4 weeks for memory foam to lose its gross smell. It’s been 3 days and it think the strength of the smell is still the same but I will leave the cover off and update the review if the smell ever goes away ! Other than the smell and the stupid pacakaging, I definitely reccomend it! (So does my cat lol , her new favorite place to lay ) ... show more

this bean bag is awesome...I read alot of reviews about it and frankly, I don't understand why anyone was having a problem with this item...it arrived early actually and all you gotta do is put the filling inside the bean bag cover and then roll it around for awhile, I rolled mine around the house and in 24 hours it was fluffed up and ready hahaha no mess and no big deal...I love the cover too, its HUGE too...so big enough for two adults and or/several kids hahaha and a Rottweiler hahaha so its a good buy...like I said I'm gonna get another one...its almost like having an "extra" bed for guests...well worth every penny....oh and no smell as far as I can tell...so don't know why people keep complaining about the "smell" ....nothing I noticed it was fine and well made...love it ... show more

The quality of this is very good. The cover is nice, the foam (while initially smelly) is comfortable. The problem is the size is RIDICULOUS. I ordered two of these, and both have turned into spheres. The 4 footer is as almost as tall as my four year old, and the 6 footer is over 3 feet tall & takes up nearly 50 sq ft. If you are going to order one of these, order it two sizes smaller than you think you need. I want to return these but have no idea how that is even possible. I guess the children's center will enjoy the donation. Follow up note: Terrific Customer Service! Lumaland is working with me to facilitate a return. ... show more

This is a nice bean bag. Always nervous looking for one as you never know how it will be. It was hard getting it out of the package and is a little heavy. But once you get it out you pull apart the foam which sticks on you, but again, once it's mainly pulled apart you can fluff it and it will expand a bit more. Mine never came with a cover however which was a little disappointing. Overall I would recommend this product, very comfy and co forming to the body. ... show more

This thing is so comfortable🥱🤤 -I bought it because I have spondylarthritis and I needed something in my room that I could sit up in and some thing I would have flexibility in positioning when I sit down …. and this was it !!!! I got the 5 foot it’s huge ….. Any reviews that said “”there’s never puffed up”” it’s because they didn’t put work into it you have to break the chunks up you can do this gently right through the material with your hands!! -The cover for this thing is nice and thick and a very easy to clean material!! -I was a little concerned with my cat making biscuits on it and tearing it up but I just keep a light blanket on top of my beanbag at all times and she sleeps on it but doesn’t bother with it!!! Best purchase ever thanks guys🏆 PS make sure you’re careful with the size you choose these things are very big very very big 100% recommend🫶🏼 ... show more

I underestimated what a 5' beanbag would look like in my living room. I'm not disappointed though! This beanbag is super comfy, huge and the only con so far is a weird, chemically odor that a few other reviews mention. I'm sure that will dissipate in time though.
