At first, I was hesitant to spend $300+ on a beanbag chair. I've purchased several of the $100 ones from Amazon over the past few years and they were always decent for the price. But I came across these and was interested since it could double as a bed, for when relatives come to visit. I was really impressed with the quality of the cover and the foam material inside. It's not quite as soft as what I'm used to, but it also maintains its form a lot better and I don't have to re-fluff it every time I sit down. I got one of the matching foot rests as well, and that's a great addition. I have two young kids so the ability to wash the cover on this is really nice as well, I'm sure I'll take advantage of it often. If you have money to spend on a beanbag, this is absolutely worth it. I'm writing this review because I was hesitant to by this "been bag" because of the reviews. When I was a teenager I had a bean bag chair. Since I was a teenage boy I didn't car that it leaked thousands of Styrofoam beans that ultimately Mom would vacuum up. I know bad son. But I grew up and now my youngest wanted a big bean bag chair. No way i wanted my wife to have to deal with that. After doing research i realized they use memory foam chunks now. All kinds of bad reviews. But I went with this queen size. This thing is so cool. My Son loves it. Also the added mattress functionality is so smart. And the sofy corduroy bag is very soft. Filled up huge after an hour or so outside of the packaging. Easy to assemble it might take 2 people because it is heavy. Yes day one it does have a slight chemical smell but not overpowering, I fully expect the smell to go away in a few days. Joking I told the wife we were going to get rid of our sofa and chairs and just have 5 of these things. But they at least for now are that comfortable. Now keep in mind I'm a little over 6'3" and weigh about 360ish. I sat down on this thing and I did not sink to the floor. It is comfortable easy to sit in. This one is a winner. 2 weeks later this thing is still awesome. It has filled out fully and is so cool. ... show more

I upgraded this to 4 stars based on the BEAN BAG CHAIR. As a bean bag, it is very comfortable (don't expect to sink really deep into it though but it is a lot easier to get out of than most bean bags). I don't feel the "plastic-y bits" as a bean bag. It was very popular with our guests the other evening. As a mattress, I do NOT hold high hopes for it, as it still made the crinkly noises and still had the harder/stiffer pieces that felt like they'd poke you if you laid on the mattress. At the least, even if the plastic bits squish deep enough into the foam so you don't feel them, I think you'd still get the crinkly noise (kind of sounds like someone with a bag of chips/crisps) so if you are a light sleeper, that could be a problem. *It is less "lumpy" now that it has expanded quite a bit more but the stiff/rigid plastic bits are still heard and felt while in mattress form Original review: Just unpacked the queen-sized one today and found that it "crinkles" and has hard/rigid bits. No, it's not the foam needing to expand, they appear to be the backing of the foam. There's foam on one side, very thin layer, and plastic coated back. In fact, a few pieces I pulled out were JUST crumpled plastic, and not flexible/squishable. So far this thing feels like it's made up of broken styrofoam cups but at least those would actually break down, these chunks don't appear to be. I'll wait a few days to see if this thing magically expands and puffs up so those bits aren't felt but I'm not holding out much hope. I pulled several out to see if they'd expand from their 1/16" thickness but so far, nope. Really disappointed as I was hoping for something a young guest could sit on and read or watch tv while her parents played board games with us and so we could use the mattress over our "hide-a-bed" on the occasions we need to use that (guests, power outages since it's in the room with the fireplace) but I think the hard mattress for the hide-a-bed complete with the areas the bars are felt through would be more comfortable than using this lumpy, pokey thing :( ... show more

Easily the best purchase of the year. I bought the biggest one they had and do not regret it at all. I got an extra bag of fill as the original was a little lacking. But everyone loves it. In bag mode it comfortably seats a 10 and 5 yo together although getting two adults on it is tough unless you’re very friendly with each other 😏. The kids love launching themselves at it from wherever they can. Sometimes to my dismay. I’m glad I don’t have a loft or I’m sure they would be B.A.S.E. Jumping onto it. Unfolding it into blob or mattress mode leaves me with a giant king sized futon mattress that we lovingly call the blob. This thing was to kill you and absorb your life. And it kills you with comfort by sucking you in and making it impossible to escape. Add a sheet set and comfortable blanket and it’s game over. The kids literally disappear into the blob and get so cozy they don’t want to get out. Definitely a fun and functional addition to the house. The material used is high quality and the cloth and zippers are higher end. I have seen others that use cheap zippers that fail or seams that come apart but I can attest to the quality and durability of this product as I myself as a 200lb adult often throw myself onto the bag. The cover is a little difficult to get back on if you are by yourself but it’s doable. Being able to put the cover in the washing machine is a godsend as the first day had a spill. I had to contact customer service when I first got it and they were super responsive and helpful. If your on the fence like I was I would say get it. I don’t have any regrets. ... show more
