I love the hard shell cases as they're sturdy, lightweight and give good protection to my personal items. However, the clam-style opening is absolutely horribly inconvenient for accessing as the suitcase must be opened completely. This requires lots of time and space and is such a bother to me. When I found the LUGGEX Luggage top opening suitcase, I was over the moon, as it is the best of both worlds! The sturdiness of the hard shell and the top opening provides quick and easy access to my personal items. The design of these suitcases is simply ingenious!! I love it! Unfortunately, I had to give only 4 stars as it got a golf ball-size dent in one corner after just one use...disappointing.

Zipper blew out on the first use. Had to use a garage bag until I could find a place to get a new suitcase. Annotation: Amazon gave me a full refund and Luggex sent me a new carry on for the inconvenience. So far no issues with the replacement that I can see. It's nice to know that a company is willing to stand behind their products. Amended from 1 star to 5 stars...thank you! Customer service makes a difference 🙂

We ordered 2 suitcases - on our first trip we noticed both had broken zippers upon return. The expansion was impossible to collapse again because the zipper was not there. So this carry-on is awesome. There’s a zipper pocket on the outside of it that you just undo pull your electronics out without having to open up the whole entire carry-on the carry-on itself when you open it up has two separate compartments, which is really helpful to keep everything organized.
