Lucky to Have Lucky Jordan on Bluray
I have read reviews that put this movie down. I thought it was terrific. Alan Ladd's sense of comic timing was perfect; it was one of the few humorous movies he did. He was superb - at his best as the usual gangster tough guy, but with a soft side. Mabel Paige was a hoot as his fake mother. Helen Walker was perfectly cast as a soldier girl. I love this film. The film is old, but was pretty clear viewing. But most of Ladd's films could be and should be really cleaned up and remastered. They are doing it with others. Shane has been reissued. I just don't understand why Salty O'Rourke, another Ladd vehicle, has not been put on bluray by Kino Lorber classics. Once you get familiarized with Ladd, you will be hooked. He was a classic actor, and a one-of-a-kind. He made film history, and the likes of him will not reappear. ... show more
