  • I like to get out as much as possible I have ...
Size: 6-24x50mm Color: Black
I have been a long time hunter and a very avid shooter, I like to get out as much as possible I have been comp shooting for more than 20 years. As you can imagine I have been through my share of scopes, rifles, and handguns. I have used a variety of scopes in the past, when I started shooting there was a limited amount of scopes on the market that performed good at a reasonable price . Today that has all changed with knowledge better applied, to make products of great quality at an affordable price. It is not always the price you pay for a rifle or handgun or the price you pay for the the optics rather it is the performance of the operator. In most cases I have found this to be true, I myself am a living testimony of mistakes. I was looking for a new scope for my 270 wsm Browning Xbolt I just purchased, I came across the Lucid L5 6-24x50 a little skeptical I gave Lucid a call and spoke with a gentleman about the scope production he was vary patient and answered all my questions , he even went as far as to offer me the free use of one of there scopes to test it , I immediately thought to my self wow he has a lot of confidence in there product but was not a snob about it, it put me to mind that if he was willing to let me use one for a while then he was confident that it would perform , try getting that from any other company. I made my purchase of the Lucid scope being it had the adjustments I needed and that they were confident it would perform good. ( I did not use the free trial based on the confidence of performance he suggested) I thought to my self for the money its worth the purchase. The scope came in and I quickly got it out to the range to test I installed a one piece CNC machined type mount for the scope. I could not be happier with the scope grouping was impeccable adjustments were easy, the clarity was great even out to 1000 yards it performs flawless, for the money , and performance this scope should be a lot more money. Sense I have purchased 2 more rifle scopes one is fro my Remington 700 BDL 308win , the other for my Armalite AR-10 308win the same consistent performance out of both . I purchased a Red Dot HD7 Gen 3 for my wife's AR-15 and complimented it with a Lucid 2x-5x Variable Magnifier with the recommended ADM SM-01 Swing off Mount . I have been using the lucid L5 on my Barret 50 cal , so far at about 150 rounds it is still performing vary well, we are vary happy with the quality and price. What a great combination. I still have other rifles with great scopes on them however I paid a lot more money for them with the same performance as Lucid, I will be using Lucid for a long time coming I would compare the Accuracy of the Lucid scopes and red dots to a lot more expensive products. I refrain from using any names. LUCID IN SHORT BUCKS WITH THE BEST OF THEM. ... show more

Scope was damaged when it arrived. I contacted Lucid and e-mailed them info and photos of damage. I sent optic to them and they ran test. They got back with me right away and sent me another new scope. I've leveled and laser bore sighted it but have not ranged sighted it yet. Can't rate the performance yet but appears to be a quality optic with excellent reticle field of view. ... show more

  • Great scope for not a lot of money.
Size: 44mm Color: Matte Black
I was a bit put off at first because I knew nothing about Lucid Optics. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. The glass is clear and bright the turrets lock and click very solidly. One thing I initially had concerns with, is how fine the reticle is. The literature says the center dot is 1/8th MOA, so are the stadia lines. I had trouble seeing the hashmarks until I focused it for my aging eyes. I can see them fine know. The scope came with flip caps, the front one is fine, the rear one doesn't fit very tightly. I used a couple of small spots of clear silicone to fix it in place, it stays fine now. All in all the scope does everything I hoped it would. I would buy another if I needed one. ... show more

  • Review for Lucid 6-24x50
Size: 6-24x50mm Color: Black
There are a couple of things in the items description that are a lie! First lie is the picture. The scope does not come with beautiful Nightforce like turrets as in the picture, instead it comes with cheap looking turrets with rubber inserts. I have to admit, the cheap looking turrets do work well. They do not slip while wearing gloves and the clicks are sharp. The second lie is that the scope is waterproof. The front lens can be unscrewed by hand without any effort. In fact it was a little loose on my scope. There aren't any seals to keep the water and moisture out. This makes me think that the lenses will eventually get fogged up. As far as optics, they are just ok. The image does become a little fuzzy at high magnification, but it is usable. Also, there seems to be color distortion. This is especially apparent when you look at a red object such as bull's eye. The round RED bull's eye in the center of the target appears as a blur almost as big as the target it's self when you look at it through the scope. I found it to be very annoying. Parallax adjustment was also off on my scope. At 100 yard range the scope went parallax free at about 230 yard mark. That's way off! I can expect some error, but this is just too much. When I called Lucid to ask whether I can reposition the parallax knob I got some guy on the phone that did not know the difference between parallax and focus. He was also very rude. The only reason I did not return this scope back to Amazon is because of the L5 Reticle. I just wish over manufacturers would offer similar reticle so that I wouldn't have to deal with the shortcomings of this scope. ... show more

  • Honest & impressed..
Size: 6.5 Color: Black
first trip out I was able to put center hit on (pistal targets) with no loss of zero 20yrds,50yrds,75yrds,100yards. enjoy the 4 power. the Optics are extremely clear to view. update;-) the glass on Optics is absolutely incredible clear. recently outdoors was more impressed with the clarity of the Optics outdoors than just on the Range. I have not needed to make any adjustments to the zero.I have not had to retighten the screws that hold the scope on the rifle I also enjoy the ability of the scope to adjust the crosshairs (which can be blue-or-red) This is on 30 caliber rifle. I am impressed with this Lucid Optic. Update... 1yr later.still enjoy the scope & have no problem with loss of Zero, still firmly mounted on Rifle, worth the money,Update:-)2yrs later Out with friend shot 6inch steel gong @308yards 3times W/ease.. Just a good Quality optic. ... show more
