I've had this product for about a week now and it is fantastic. My husband and I bought a very expensive bed that turned out to be hard as a rock. Since then, I've probably spent around $600 or more on toppers just to give us a decent night's sleep. I wish I would have started with these. For reference, I had spinal fusion surgery years ago, I have sciatica, a recurring slipped disc in my lower back, and two discs in my neck fusing together - so I'm always hurting. This bed topper gives me so much relief after being on my feet all day. I never want to leave my bed now.

I spent a lot of time researching mattress toppers & reading reviews trying to find the best fit that will hopefully relieve my sciatic & back pain. I currently have a firm mattress & recently bought a new "medium" mattress for the extra room. I tried that medium mattress and it seemed to due better with my pain. It wasn't until I recently that I slept on a "soft" bed & noticed such a difference in my pain. My bed is not old, so I wasn't going to buy a new one hence the hunt for the best mattress topper. After much soul searching & praying, I decided to purchase this topper (I really didn't have the extra money to spend.) Once I received it, I was scared to open it because if it didn't work there was no way I was going to be able to stuff it back in it's box to return it. Once I braved it, I loved the gel infused padding even by itself. I spread out the down-alt. topper & let it sit for 2 days. It did plump up , but only ok. So, I took another customers advise & put it in the dryer on high for 30 min. I do have to tell you that if you have a normal dryer like I, the topper will completely fill up the whole dryer. I was actually a bit scared of it being a fire hazard, so I kept an eye on it. I also adjusted the topper in the dryer to ensure every area was affected. IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY!! Now came the time to put a sheet over it all. Even though it said it would fit over it all, I didn't see how it could. I am sooo happy to tell you that it did! So far, EVERYTHING has worked as advertised. I can't wait to try it out tonight!!!!! I will pray again that it will work wonders on my sciatic & back pain!

UPDATE 4.5 MONTHS LATER: Still in love. PERFECT amount of support and cushion, does not get hot whatsoever, and the pillowtop has been easy to wash and dry in a regular washer/dryer setup. It has held its shape really well also. Love it. --- Ok, so it's only been one night, but this thing is a dream. It is a miracle. I am still saving up to afford a new mattress, and as I need someone to deliver, haul out the old, AND it's a Cal King, I just haven't been able to swing all the expenses. This is the stopgap I so desperately needed. I think this will extend the life of my mattress for a while but will update my review if or when this thing goes bad. But last night was some of the best sleep I've had outside of a hotel room in YEARS. I used the pillowtop on top of the foam, and it did NOT get hot at all, and it is HOT where I live right now. I was very, very worried about this because I'm a hot sleeper. Like, fans on, kick the blankets off, night sweats hot sleeper. I did buy a "cooling technology" sheet set, so that may have helped, but honestly they felt like any other sheets. Trust me when I say if you use the pillowtop it isn't a heat sink. I do think if you use just the foam that that will get hot, though. It was very easy to unroll and position on my bed. The foam dimensions aren't exact, but it's close enough and it made zero difference anyway. The pillowtop easily extended over the corners and stayed on perfectly. I did not notice any smell at all. Do be aware that while you let this reconstitute for the 2 days it says to, if you have entitled cats, they might find the foam REALLY appealing to sharpen claws on (ask me how I know...), so I'd advise you try to keep them out of the space until you've fully made your bed. Just sayin'.

I was expecting the what turned out to be the "gel foam" to be different. All it is is a blue foam pad. I was thinking is would be in a sleeve because it said gel. The topper is very nice and that is the best part, But the foam part I could have purchased foam at the fabric store with the same results.
