I was nervous to buy a mattress without seeing it in person but I did it anyway. A friend recommended it to me and I thought her and I are the same size and around the same weight so I thought I would go for it and I am so happy I did. I absolutely love it. I have the 12 inch medium firm and it’s just perfect for me not too soft and not to firm. my son took a nap on it once he is much bigger and heavier he did say he would need a firm mattress. I wasn’t there when it arrived but I had my son open it as soon as it arrived (around 11am) by the time I got home (around 6pm) it already had good shape. This was put in a second home so it's not used everyday. I sleep fine on it but the one I have at home that has more give to it is more cozy and comfortable. This one is a little more firm than I like. Hopefully with use it will get more comfortable. It was a good price for a King mattress. It didn't smell and puffed up quickly after unpacking.

Mattresses are so very subjective to personal preference it's almost impossible to review. I will say that we wore out our first Lucid Plush Queen in about 10 years. we loved it and tried to find the same one but all we could find was a Med-Plush. The difference was night and day. The Med -plush felt like a slab of stone compared to plush! We decided to finally upgrade to a king size since we're always getting a bunch of furry little bed guests. We found the Lucid King Plush, and the comfort was back! Sore backs and aching joints began to subside again. Be aware it does run warm so you might want to lighten up on sheets/blankets to keep from slow cooking overnight. It also did not "fluff-up" as well as the original, but not enough to cause any problems. This is one of the main issues I see with all memory foam mattress reviews. I'm beginning to suspect that this might be an environmentally related issue. Unlike the other two mattresses we had before that fluffed up quickly and completely, we were experiencing very high humidity at the time we opened this one. We live in the desert and usually have high barometric pressure/low humidity. We had just received some rare rain and had low pressure high humidity. Perhaps if we all can remember and note these data points, we can solve a mystery???

I ordered this mattress in a King Size medium September 18th, 2020. Initially it was awesome. It helped a ton with back pain. I felt that it was finally the mattress I was looking for, but I was wrong. Around the 2 year mark I was becoming very stiff when I was getting out of bed in the morning. I soon realized that my side of the bed was sunken in and extremely soft. I’m 6’ and 200lbs. My girlfriend’s side is still firm and holding its shape, but she’s only 100lbs. Too bad, really loved this mattress at first.

I was concerned about the cost as the lucid mattress was much cheaper than our plush pillow top air spring but after using it for a few days I can say I don’t miss coils. After getting a new king sized bed we needed a new mattress, having a awkward climb up the stairs and a curve we were afraid a regular coil mattress wouldn’t fit and after trying out the oldest kids memory foam bed we felt a memory foam would fit in our house but we concerned about comfort. The first 2 nights the bed was different, both not being a queen but also not being the same feel as our other mattress. But by the 3rd night we were good. So what are my feelings; Comfort- the mattress is comfortable, it’s plush enough, but it’s not you sink you into it. It doesn’t have the pillow/coil feed but once you use it for a few nights it feel different but also feels good. Heat retention- I usually like a cool bed, the lucid even with the cooling foam is warm. It does retain more heat than a coil bed, but for cold winter nights it hasn’t overheated me. I’ll have to review the bed again in summer. Unboxing- the biggest difference between a bed in a box and a regular size mattress is that the mattress has to uncompress, it took ours about 36 hours to get full sized. It does 75% in less than an hour but the last 25% took about 24 hours. Even after full size I felt a difference between 24 hours and 36 hours. There were no dead spots. Smells-neither I not the wife smelled any funny smells while it uncompressed. I did rotate the mattress a few times while it unboxed. So over all, I’m happy with the mattress, not only was it a good price but it feels good. It is warner than a coil but not overly hot. I can’t say how long it will last but my air spring cost 2x as much 10 years ago. If the lucid lasts more than 5 years I’m ahead!
