Description
LS2 assaults the competition with the class-leading Assault Helmet. The Assault shell is constructed from LS2's Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA), a lightweight strong composite material, and is paired with a multi-density EPS liner into three shell sizes. The interior comfort liner uses a high-tech fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly and is fully removable and washable. The comfort pads are pre-curved using LS2’s 3D laser technology for all-day comfort and no hot spots. Large, adjustable vents on the chin bar and at the top of the helmet work in conjunction with the rear spoiler and side venturi vents to offer adjustable, dynamic flow-through ventilation. The eye port is wide and houses an optically correct, Pinlock ready faceshield (lens insert sold separately). DOT approved. Meets the FMVSS 218 Standard, product also meets requirements imposed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB)

I have been riding for 30 years and always had to settle on an uncomfortable helmet. I guess I have an oval head shape and never realized it. Most helmets are sized for round heads and the effect on me was to have undue pressure on my forehead. after riding for less than an hour I would start to feel my forehead getting numb and I would constantly have to readjust my helmet or pull over and take it off for a few minutes because it was so uncomfortable. I decided to try this helmet because my other lids were over 5 years old and needed to be replaced. What a revelation! I rode for over an hour with no discomfort at all! It was amazing. The built in sunshade was also a very cool addition as I often ride during the day to work but leave at night to go home. I have a tinted windscreen on one of my helmets which is fine for daylight use but is too dark at night. The end result is I have to wear sunglasses when I ride during the day and use a clear windscreen on the helmet at night without the sunglasses. the built in sunshade eliminates the extra need for sunglasses and looks cool as well. Very impressed with this brand. Would buy again.

it's a nice helmet, comfortable to wear and feels solid, hopefully I'll never have to put it to the test, but I believe it would keep your gourd in one piece, it's got really nice airflow with the vents open and is sealed well when closed up, which is very nice for cool weather. I chose this helmet because a bunch of other people I know that ride (alot) wear it and have nothing but good to say about it, and neither do I, it's a solid helmet at a good price, honestly it's pretty cheaply priced for the quality and functions.

The helmet is lightweight and comfortable. Room for speakers and an intercom device. I’d say, true to size on the measurement chart. I like that there is room to wear sunglasses comfortably while helmet is on. I did a long distance ride and my neck did not feel heavy or tired during the long ride like my other helmet made me feel. So that’s a plus! It’s a good looking helmet also. THE BAD: My helmet came with the wrong size pinlock (to big) so wasn’t able to put it on before our ride as planned. Very disappointed, as I got caught in a rain storm, instantly my visor fogged up and I was not able to see. I opened my visor having hail and rain pounding on my face not being able to see the road clearly. VERY DANGEROUS. Definitely needs the proper fitting pinlock before my next ride.

This is my second LS2 helmet, the first one lasted 2 years and I got this one just to be safe as my motorcycle instructor explained that the padding in helmets that saves your brain in a collision is like styrofoam and breaks down over time/gets micro-fractures each time the helmet is dropped. What I love is the styling, built-in sunshade (not antifog, so treat it with some antifog lens cleaner), really great visor - keep it clean and the view is fantastic. Also, the option to open or close the face/top vent is really helpful. It also comes with an antifog Pinlock film custom fit for the visor (saving you $40). Complaints specific to this model: The view if I'm in a super aggressive riding stance during high wind, his speed, or rain is more for upright stance, so when I lean down it is necessary to crane my neck up just a little more than I would like to. This is fine as my bike is an adventure touring bike and I seldom ride that way, but I wish there was an inch more upward view. Could be the fit on my head too, not sure. It's also not the quietest helmet, but riding motorcycles rarely is a quiet activity. In summary, I love LS2 helmets and am very impressed with this model. The sunshade and vent levers are easy to access and if needed, I can pop the visor open a crack for really cold rainy days when even Pinlock can't keep the fog off the visor. I feel that it is very well designed and trust it for protecting my head. The visor comes off easily for cleaning and ventilation is good enough to usually keep from fogging, but also not so much that it gets too cold or hot inside.

I picked the red chilli pepper matte helmet. It's a first for me and I used recommendations from friends who are veteran riders as well as a friend who does racing and has years experience, i used their guidance to pick the right fitting as they described "if it's able to fit my head but pushes my cheek into my brain it's good when new". The helmet style was a personal choice I really loved the red matte color of this but I honestly do not care for the graphic on it, would have loved it more if it was straight plain red matte color. The helmet for myself I picked medium based on measurements recommended for my head size which was 22.5". I love all the little vent features this helmet has as well as the included extra visor piece for anti fog, it has a fairly simple inner shade drop visor that is easily accessible from the side of the mask it was easy to drop or raise it when wearing gloves, the helmet comes with a kind of cheap but useful storage bag, easy to remove the visor if needed for replacing or other reasons one may need to remove it. It's an overall simple helmet I have yet to use and I tried to get as many pictures in for other to see any missed out details the product images doesn't provide. Some reviews mentioned it has space to add in a speaker or com inside but I was not able to check this out for sure but will update in future one I get a good use of this mask. UPDATE: after a month of use I can say this is a great helmet the vents work well enough that I can open them to get air flow into the helmet to keep cool as well as in high speed. The fitting is still snug but padding has broken in well enough to fit on comfortably unlike when I first would put it on. Really love this helmet I have customized the painting by adding my own graphics to it really love this helmet will be getting another one of these in their other colors.
