  • Great travel pack for camera gear
Style: Hatch Bp250awii
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this pack. It comfortably stores my z7 with kit lens (or the 24-120mm) attached, my 50mm and 35mm, with room for a few other things (brush pen). Construction of the bag is pretty good given the price, and it's mostly comfortable for walking/meandering around. Not a great hiking pack, but otherwise really useful. ... show more

Plenty of room, moveable spaces, heavy duty!

  • Great MF (RB, yet!) Bag
Style: Ph Classic 300aw
I bought this bag to store and carry a Mamiya RB67 ProSD body, a couple lenses and filters, 2 filmbacks, shutter release, and other small items. I currently have a body, Type 1 viewfinder and 180mm K/L lens with caps and hood in it, and believe it will fit a 65mm lens, backs, and compendium hood as I build out this kit. I had hoped I wouldn’t have to break the camera down much, but in my first go, it seemed prudent to do so. This is no failure of the product at all but a compromise to allow for convenient carry of a bulky camera system. The bag is well made and designed for its intended purpose, and even for a large, medium format system, is suitable for the task. It would easily fit in an overhead, possibly under a seat, but I would be hesitant to check it. The padding is well done and adequate for the use of an amateur, or a professional not needing to carry a studio in a bag. With Mamiya rig, if I left the wide angle lens home in favor of a flash, I might be able to do portraits. The bag’s hardware is completely adequate to its task, and the interior is well laid out to accommodate the larger camera. I found I was able to double-cushion the body placed at the bottom of the bag with an unused divider, a welcome discovery. There are numerous Velcro strips around the interior of the bag, allowing one to arrange their equipment in nearly any way imaginable. A fully loaded RB can weigh nearly 10 pounds on the tripod, so having a nicely made, evenly balanced shoulder bag is a real blessing. I recommend this bag highly to the Medium Format community for carrying your RB/RZs, Hassys, Pentax 67s, Universal Presses, Zenzas, Texas Leicas, Rolleis, C-Series, and other larger film cameras for casual work with a lens or two. You GX680 owners will need to go bigger. 4 x 5” field camera aficions could consider this bag, after careful measurement of your gear. Great value for the money! ... show more

  • Great day pack for a day on your feet with the camera
Style: Hatch Bp250awii
If you are looking for a solid day pack that can carry gear and odds and ends safely around town or on a modest afternoon hike, but is only the size of a school book bag, this is a good purchase. The front pocket can easily accommodate a 10" tablet, a book or two, magazines, or other flat objects. The top compartment is pretty spacious. You could easily fit a few books, a spare rain jacket or fleece, shoes, snacks, or other gear. The camera compartment can be customized and has good padding. In the camera compartment I can put a Nikon d5600 with a 17-50mm f/2.8 lens attached, a 35mm prime, and an 18-140mm telephoto, and a few odds and ends (charger, etc.). I think it would easily accommodate a full frame camera as my smaller camera body has room to spare. If you reconfigure the internal space you could bring along a bigger zoom than the one I have. Of course, you can also put large lenses, extra bodies, and other things in the spacious top compartment. There are also two water bottle sleeves that can take a slimmer bottle (think 24-26 oz. bottle for a bike, not a wide Nalgene for camping). It also has an included rain cover that lives in its own little pocket. Best of all, it doesn't look like a camera bag. I'm positive it fits easily in an overhead compartment, even on a regional jet. This is a comfortable bag and well constructed, but it is designed for light travel. It isn't a solution for an overnight hike or if you need to lug around a professional kit for an all-day shoot, but I'd carry it on a trail for 10 miles or around a city all day if I were playing tourist and wanted to travel light while indulging my photo bug. Things this backpack does NOT seem to do: -There are no ties or fasteners to attach extra stuff to the exterior of the bag. You can probably put a slender, small portable tripod in the water bottle holder, but not securely. -There is no real hip belt (just a strap), but it would be hard to load it down enough to need one. -There is no dedicated space for a water bladder system If you want or need all those other things, get the Photo Sport 200/300 AW. ... show more

  • Can't Beat A LowePro
Style: Ph Classic 300aw
This makes my fifth LowePro bag. I sold my first one after having it for over ten years because I needed a bigger one. I am an amature photographer and do mostly nature photography and YouTube videos. So, my bags do quite a bit of traveling, especially out in different types of weather. I have NEVER had an issue with any of my bags, that's why I only buy LowePro. Never had a problem with water or dust getting inside. Sturdy construction, great zippers and buckles, and well thought out design on all my bags. Highly recommended. ... show more
