She shattered her other bat in practice, so she wanted the Meta. She loved it when we bought it. Aaaaaand then, it cracked 1-1/2 months later. A $493 bat broke from simple hitting practices. Contacted Louisville Slugger, will update should they do anything.

We received this bat in February in prep for summer softball season after doing a TON of research on the supposed best bats for 2022-2023. Our snow just melted so we didn’t use the bat until this month and instantly realized something was very wrong with the inside core of the bat. The first time my daughter hit with this, her coach stopped her and said something was wrong with the bat just based on the sound coming from it when the ball hits the barbell. There’s literally a rattling noise and you can feel something loose jiggling inside the barrel when you move the bat. Worse, there is no “pop” when the ball comes off the barrel (presumably because of the inside damage) and when you hit the ball just duds out. We are outside the return window because we didn’t even take this out of the box until this month when softball season started and now we are not able to get a refund to get a new bat that’s not broken. Another teammate has this same bat and her bat has a great pop and my daughter can hit her usual power hitting with that (non broken) bat, she hasn’t noticed any issues with hers but I’m eager to see if she will develop issues with hers as well. The media could not be loaded. Posted a video so you could hear the pop… bay not broken in at the time and had never been used in a game, only used a few times to try it out and please ignore our girls dead buzzard hit… she broke her arm and literally got the cast off the day this video was taken, so again it shows * my Opinion* how great this bat is. 6 weeks in a full arm cast very weak and sore still and nerved out… and still pop sounds and sent the ball. She is 11 hrs old about 5’3 and 116 lbs the bat we bought is a 31/21 -10 seems perfect size for her but she did say it was heavier than she was use to first day swinging it and felt the vibration in her skull first few days trying to break it in 🤣 hope this helps some! All over, we love the bat now and so do the other girls! Two others have bought the same after using hers. ... show more

My 16 y/o daughter's bat broke right before an important camp out of state. I needed something quick so I came to Amazon. She is an LS girl and typically uses Xeno. There were no 34/24 Xenos so we bought the Meta. The first one started rattling after her first hitting session and completely broke while at the camp the next day. Thinking it was a fluke I ordered another on for her tourney the following weekend. The damn thing started rattling after the first game and 3 AB/s. Garbage. Returned them both to Amazon since I was within the 30 window. Went to LS and bought her the 2024 Xeno. All is well again. DO NOT BUY THIS BAT ... show more

Update: Louisville Slugger replaced the broken bat quickly and without question but it cost over $100 to ship from Maryland to Washington. Purchased for my daughter currently playing on a 14U team. Love the sound the of the bat making contact with the ball and it really seems to add a bit of power and speed off the bad. But on a recent practice, my daughter hit a hard line drive which resulted in a rattle inside the bat. No damage is visible on the outside but clearly something broken on the inside. Submitting a warranty claim to Louisville Slugger and weill see if they replace it. ... show more

    • First Tournament, Already Rattling

My daughter is a huge LS fan and when the Meta came out, she really wanted to try it. I waited about a year before I bought one and heard all the reviews about it breaking and what not. The bat arrives, she loves it, and it’s pretty hot. Our first tournament of the season, she uses it in a game and it’s rattling like someone dropped a marble into the barrel. I have been told and read that it’s most likely some epoxy or end cap glue that comes loose and makes that sound. It should not affect the performance of the bat. My problem is, it’s a $400+ dollar bat. Are they using 25 cent epoxy? If this is a problem, solve it already! No matter what the cause, no bat will pass an inspection if it’s rattling. She has used Xeno’s and LXT’s and has never had an issue like this. LS did a very poor job with this bat. I do not recommend buying this one. Stick with the original fastpitch bats. ... show more
