He read the instructions, looked at pieces to birdhouse, put the pieces in order that they went together and proceeded to put the whole thing together. He was so proud as was I. I was very pleased with this birdhouse kit! It came with all the pieces and they were very sturdy with no splintering of the wood. The instructions were clear and it was easy to assemble. My child also had an absolute blast painting it and being involved in the assembly of it.

The wood was very nicely cut and the holes were accurately placed. Nice design. It would have been a good, easy project for my 4.5 y/o son to do on his own except that either the screw holes were too deep or the screws were too short. They did not securely hold the house together (a few of them could lift right out) and we had to resort to using super glue in combination with the screws. Because of this my son lost interest pretty quickly as he had wanted to put it together on his own. There is no way it would have hung for any quality length of time without falling apart otherwise. We were also missing 2 screws. I will be ordering a different DIY birdhouse for my son to do on his own. ... show more

Talk about a disappointment. Had so much fun building and painting this with my birdhouse obsessed preschooler. We put it outside, added birdseed, and everything seemed fine until we got our first rain shower. The entire birdhouse warped, the bottom (and screws) literally fell out, and the thing is unusable. My preschooler is devastated. Don’t advertise something as “All Seasons” if it can’t even withstand a simple rain shower without completely coming apart. ... show more

Overall the bird house is great. Easy for little hands to assemble and is very sturdy once done. I appreciated that it has screws instead of nails. HOWEVER, be prepared to purchase paint. The paints that were included were awful. Most of the containers are empty or mostly empty. The paint that was useable was thick or dried out. I gave it 2 stars because again, the birdhouse is great, but the paint that is included would be a negative 5 stars. ... show more
