I have a couple of offroad nitro RC cars that my son loves but are a bit much for him. I bought him a really cheap one on here and it was fine he enjoyed it but it wasn't enough for him from my perspective lol. I bought him this for Christmas and the hype is real! Its not the fastest being the brushed model but it is absolute quality! It feels quick and responsive definitely enough to keep a kid (and his dad lol) entertained! I bought one for my nephew over 10 years ago and always wanted one. I got this one for my 4 year old son. He drove it full speed straight into the curb. We flipped it over, brushed it off, and played with it till the battery died. Tough little car, super fun. Worth every penny. We charge and play with every day. My first RC was a Losi Mini-t back in 2004, and let me say the comparison between the durability and speed of the 2 are night and day. Even though the mini-T 2.0 is still made mostly of plastics, the polymer technology used is far superior to that of the original Mini-T. I've thrashed this car in my driveway over 3-4 foot jumps, sometimes cartwheeling the car several times and I've yet to hurt it beyond what i consider normal wear and tear. (other than losing the wing from the body). The speed is adequate for my 50 foot driveway, but could easily be improved with a brushless setup, but plenty fast to have fun with jumps and wheelies. Also the tires wear quickly running on concrete, after 8 or so battery charges they are bald on the back. Runtime is far improved than the original Mini-t, I consistently get 18-25 minutes of runtime and the battery only takes a little over an hour to charge with the included charger. overall i'm very pleased with this RC car; Its an 18th scale, so don't expect too much offroad capability its a fun driveway/ street/ hardpacked soil car and thats all to expected at this scale ... show more

A good little truck. Handles decent, pretty quick on brushed motor. Has taken some mild tumbles and holds up so far. Parts are inexpensive if necessary. My only complaint is that one of the rear shocks has very little oi in it, so does not provide good damping and you can hear it foaming/cavitating, and causes a little imbalance in handling. ... show more

Looked around a lot for a rc car to play around with. found media and reviews for this truck/brand bought it, pulled it out of the box and it was ready to run. First time out - some major crashes, but this little guy took it like a champ. Second time out - I'm still bad at this but its putting up with my abuse! All of the reviews say something about buying the body pins.... they are correct! They are small and hard to see... dropped one in the grass... it was gone. Update: The battery issues are real. After the first day, the battery won't charge. Red light after leaving it on for hours. Very angry. 1 star. Buy it only if you understand you now have to pay $30 to replace the battery on day one. Last year I bought a much cheaper rc car for my son and the battery cover got lost fast, suffice it to say I've spent the rest of the past year being accosted with "I really want another rc car!" I have a Losi XXX from about 20 years ago. (25 even) I think if I had a radio I could get it to function just fine. So, when I was looking for a new car for my boy and saw this I had to ask my wife because it's a lot for us right now. She'd prefer quality over quantity so it's the only gift he gets from us this bday. He spent the entirety of the first charge playing with cardboard boxes as ramps. It took longer than I expected to charge again and we were planning to take it to the park but aren't going to make it today. It goes fast! Faster than any non-hobby grade rc car. It's easy enough for a 5 year old to control. Another bonus, I didn't have to build it piece by piece like my old losi ;) I like that if anything breaks, I can buy a replacement. (battery cover on old rc car, I'm looking at you bud) There are even 3d printable models for some parts if they break. Although I'd assume original parts would be stronger. It seems very durable. He's flipped it a few times, ran into things many times and nothing seems to have broken yet. Con! They say waterproof electronics but this doesn't include the motor and it's connection to the battery. Don't submerse this car lol Other con, but it's super small is the cotter pins are constantly falling out. Not a big deal. I'm probably gonna buy a pack of them next chance I get so I don't worry. I asked my son what he likes about the car: "I really like the flames and I like the name I gave it, the Trickster!" ... show more
