  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Just awesome!!! So happy!
I drove nitro cars years ago and never got into the electric until now. I have been driving a 1/16 scale buggy around and wanted to go back to my 1/10 scale days. I wanted either a short course or desert buggy - this is essentially the buggy and I LOVE it!! I have a Spektrum DX5C that I use, so the DX3 is being used on another car. Everything is so beautiful, and clean... Just go through and tighten all the screws - add blue lock tite as needed. The wheel hubs are 12mm and the axle is not the same as Traxxas so be wary of hubs and standoffs. I am running it on 3S packs but still on the 17T pinion - the motor gets about 160 at times and I do have a heat sink and fan on it. It screams though and the telemetry is incredible - being able to see my voltage, temps, great!! I was going to do the 15T pinion, but the tools with the kit WILL strip screws. Buy or use a good quality allen wrench or driver - specifically the 1.5mm and 2mm. Blue lock-tite. The stock tires will balloon - not that great anyway, I added some Pro-Line Badlands Belted and mounted with 12mm hubs. They don't balloon - amazing grip and a bit more ride height and temps don't seem to be impacted. Make sure that you tighten the passenger, rear wheel really well and use lock-tite. It will come loose and possibly strip. You should have extra pins on hand and I bought the 12mm hubs with a setscrew that way I didn't lose them if the hub screw came loose. Regardless - went to Mexico and ran it on the beach, The wet sand and paddle tires on the rear - AMAZING. Rooster tails for 15-20 ft and 5 ft high with both rear wheels. This is a great driving car, but I don't feel it would be an ideal basher. It is durable and has quality parts and structure but it's CG is too low and seems more suited for racing. Access is the best I have ever seen - pull two clips and the lid folds up - it's just done right! 3rd add: I had one gnarly crash that broke the holder for the left/ft a-arm, a plastic shock end and a plastic end to a link. Switched to a 15t pinion, still a screamer on 3s. On pavement it'll pull wheelies like a much shorter shorter car does. Tons of torque! I also threw in a hardened spur and 16t now. RPM front arms, steering servo upgrade, steering links and arm. Waterproof rcvr box, heatsink with dual fans on motor. I lost the head bashing, so check that too. I changed shock oil after a month of good use - wow, nasty stuff! Tried 70wt for bashing, the car jumps flat but slams the belly. The 70wt helped a ton, but now it's no way near as plush. Trying 50wt next, was told these ship with 35wt (incredible but would bottom hard on jumps. Still love the car, bought a clean set of plastic and a cage - I intend for it to look good when it's not driven hard. ... show more

  • OMG, my new 1/10th scale favorite
I own the larger dbxl-2 2.0 and that will probably remain my favorite RC buggy or Truck followed by either the AARMA Firestorm or this losi tenacity DB pro. The situation/ where I plan on driving and how. I've only taken it out for maybe 10 minutes or so but the handling is phenomenal compared to Traxxas Slash 4x4 VXL or Arrma setting BLX 4x4... UPDATE I've been tearing shh up for 1.5 years and I'm still in love. I've run it hard using a 5500 120C (ZEEE) battery it's a perfect fit. I have lots of other batteries but they are too big to fit in the tray. I have 1 major complaint for which I'll add pics asap. The pins that hold the lower control/A-arm on is held in place by a plastic cap. One bad landing (15'+ jump) on the nose and the whole thing came apart. Hot tip, add a lil hot glue over the caps and they will stay in place. **** Do not use crazy glue, you will need to repair ir sooner or later and crazy glue is no friend of mine (for this purpose anyway. ... show more

  • Great RC
Style: Lucas Oil
This is a fantastic RC. It is well built and quite durable. I have put probably 100 lipos through it so far and no failures that weren’t driver error. I have a Baja Rey as well and will reach for this 9 times out of 10. Def recommend!

  • Great buggy. Tough and fast
The media could not be loaded. Need to learn how to drive it but so far it’s lots of fun. Super fast and is very durable.

I would love to tell you about this car, but I can’t. I used it once on 3s and it seemed rad. I only ran it for a couple minutes as I am on 3s and the manual is adamant about changing the gearing for 3s to not damage it. Ok cool. Oh, looks like they thread locked the set screw and it is tiny and so locked that naturally the teeny hex head stripped out despite me doing it by hand and trying to not have that happen. Ok cool, let me just take out the motor and I can grab it or figure out….oh wait, the motor is Fing locked in place as the pinion gear is bigger than the hole for it to pass through on the aluminum it is mounted to. At this point I should note that the pinion needed for 3s that they include but don’t mount looks like if they mounted that one at factory would pass through…. Anyway, lets go buy some screw extractors. Spent $$ to have those be too big to work in such a small screw THAT WAS LOCKED by factory and literally the only thing their stupid manual says is change the gear for 3s. Now I know what you are thinking, but that’s wrong. I work on CNC machines for my day job, and this is 1000% Losi putting locker on a set screw that is so small the screw itself can’t take the torque needed to break it. Once it is stripped you are just all out F’ed as it is all trapped in a place you can’t get tools to it to safely remove it. You can see the motor shaft from me doing the best I could trying not to damage anything and still needing to drill out that set screw. So yeah, if you get this and want to run 3s, I recommend you epoxy the Allen wrench in the set screw, wait 24 hours, then hope you can break the thread locker to remove the pinion gear safely. Otherwise have fun needing to go full on machine shop tapping it out. Other than that this thing is really solid and a nice car, but to me it is crazy to have been forced by Losi to damage my motor shaft and go through what I had to simply to follow their pinion gear recommendation. The 2 star is from that alone, Losi should not lock this set screw, and tell you to put locker on the one that you end up using for your needs. ... show more
