TERRIBLE COMPANY BEWARE !!! This camera system is a joke, 4 cameras and recorder went out in 6 months. It takes 2 hours on the phone with customer service to get a replacement and they wont replace camera after 1 year. My last replacement was supposed to arrive months ago but it never came now they are saying i have to pay for a new camera because its past the warranty but they never honored the warranty..... ... show more

i have a12 camera system and 4 have been corroded, lost connection and became unusable within less than 2 years. i live in san diego where it rains probably less than any state. absolute trash even with their o rings. never using them again

    • Nice and easy set up
I have had several different DVR security camera systems over about 15 years. I wanted a new system with the BNC connections since I have had this type of camera cables ran for years and didn't want to change it out. I needed eight cameras with at least 1080P resolution and ease of remote phone viewing. I find this system the easiest set up of anything I've previously had. I didn't have to port forward or try numerous router attempts to get addresses and ports set up. To get remote viewing after the Lorex set up all I had to do was to accept access on first attempt through AT&T Smart Home Manager App. That's it! The whole system is impressive from local screen adjustments and control to remote software viewing and control. Although it does not come with a manual one can be downloaded from the Lorex site but I find the quick set up guides easy and software pretty user friendly. The camera view is a pretty wide angle. I find the detail pretty amazing for a 1080P. I love the zoom ability on home monitor and phone. I was worried about only one HDMI output for monitor since I wanted the view on two others simultaneously but I solved that with a splitter HDMI cable and a HDMI to RCA converter running RCAs to two other monitors in other rooms. The system comes with a mouse and everything needed except a monitor. The 1TB hard drive is plenty big enough for me recording continuously because in all these years I never ever needed to go back more than a day or so and certainly not a couple of weeks or more to see an event. The night vision LEDs are a lot brighter on the cameras than previous night vision cameras I've had making it "SEE" farther at night than I ever have been able to do with my other systems. The night view is bright and lots of detail. It's a set and forget system without battery changes, no cloud expense, no professional router expertise needed for simple phone view, and very easy to use with tons of features. I love this system and highly recommend it for a complete system(-monitor) for the price point. ... show more
