  • A good buy - seems to work well.
Easy to use, good battery life - seems to repel mice and insects. Even with baited traps out, have not seen evidence of mice in my garage since I put this in place.

  • Protect your CAR WIRES UNDER YOUR HOOD
It was so easy to mount this box under my hood, knowing that I can take steps to protect my car I feel better.

  • Worked fine - for a year
I used this during the cold months under my car to deter wildlife as we’re in a very rural area where rodents routinely damage cars & I’d had signs of a few acorns, etc. collecting in my engine. This seemed to work fine & had great battery life until it just suddenly stopped working altogether last week, just shy of having it for a year. It remained non-responsive when I tried changing the batteries. Very disappointed by its short useful life. UPDATE: The seller reached out in response to my original review and, because it had been less than a year, sent me a replacement. This was much appreciated and prompted me to raise my review from 3 stars to 4. ... show more

  • It works and AA batteries lasted 3 months
There was a huge pile of nutshells right where I placed the device on my engine (see pic). I vacuumed most away. I am pretty sure it was from mice infestation, not rats, though there definitely are rats running all around the yard and neighborhood at night. They are endemic here in this dreamland suburbia. Happy and fat, too. I put the alarm in my Prius on January 26. I rarely drive this car, it's a back-up car. I drive it maybe once a week. I check the device every few weeks by opening the hood and switching to the TEST mode which gives off a sound and a few beeps to let me know it is still working. Also, it may be helpful to know that there were a lot of rainstorms this Winter and my car is kept in the driveway. No function issues with the device relating to the wet weather. And it has been 100% effective! Zero nuts or evidence of return of the mice. Before this device, I would use the peppermint spray that I bought on Amazon every couple of weeks. What a pain. It did nothing to stop them, btw. Today I was walking by my car (April 28) and I heard this unusual beep. I realized it was the device signaling that the battery needed to be replaced. So the three AAA batteries lasted exactly 3 months in this car that I rarely drive. So happy with all of that! I waited to write about the device until I knew how long the battery would last so that this review would have some value to you folks out there. Good luck. UPDATE July 22nd, 3 months later: Again walking by the Prius I heard the beep indicating a low battery. Easy swap out of the 3 AA batteries. (My original message said AAA batteries which was incorrect and I corrected it now.) So it looks like this little device needs a battery swap out every 3 months. Again, I use this car infrequently, so I don't know how that affects the battery life. I am happy to report still no return of mice! Yay! New updated pic added today. ... show more

  • Useless
I had this in place for almost a month. I thought maybe it was working. IT WAS NOT WORKING. Came home one day, about to pop the hood on my car and I could actually hear this unit emitting tones. I pop the hood and find the engine compartment packed with leaves and sticks, and an active squirrel nest, ON TOP OF THIS UNIT while it was flashing lights and emitting sounds. 4 baby squirrels in the nest, and chewed wires, resulting in another costly repair. This unit is a joke. Buy at your own peril. I should send the seller a bill for my repairs. ... show more

  • Worked but broke quickly
This device actually worked quickly and well for about 4-6 months then once the first set of batteries ran down, it never worked again. I tried multiple different new batteries and I could not get it to turn on again. Very disappointed but I did buy another one with the hopes that it was just a dud.

  • Dealership said I had rodents
So gross! This was recommended to me by my service provider. I feel it is working since there has been no more rodent activity under the hood of my car. No one wants to deal with that mess.
