Not only will our dog not let us cut his nails, but he doesn't even let us touch his paws. I figured I'd be returning this grinder for sure, but I was pleasantly surprised. I did what other reviews suggested and slowly got him used to the grinder. I would turn it on and run it over his body and on his legs (like a massage) and turn it off. I did this for a few days, and he eventually stayed relaxed, and I did a couple nails. The next day I did a couple more and now I can do all the nails on 2 paws. I think the only reason he wants to stop after 2 paws is because you can smell the burning nail smell and I think he thinks he should be afraid of that. If I could change anything it would be these two things...the grinder tip does not last very long and the clippers that come with the grinder are not at all sharp enough.

I am really impressed with the nail grinder in particular. It works so great! It’s quiet. Just a lil hum. And the built-in light unexpectedly comes in very handy! The battery lasted longer than I even needed it to and I did both dogs nails! AND both dogs were fine with me doing it. One dog usually goes nuts!! It’s also much safer than other grinders! I came very close to seriously injuring my dog with a different brand. This one is terrific! I even put it on my own nails and felt no pain! You still want to be careful of course. Don’t leave it on one area of the nail for too long, etc. I’m so happy with this purchase! The price was fair and it arrived very quickly! Great job Seller and thank you!

Heyyy. We like this nail grinder! 1 - nervous, medium-sized dog + 2 - the guardian. It took little time to get her acclimated to the sound (low buzzing + grinding sound against the nail) and the vibration, which is light. Pro tip, however, is that my dog is already very used to her paws being handled because for over two years she’s used to a routine of having her paws wiped/handled after walks. This will be a huge help before you start clipping nails or grinding, especially for dogs that were adopted as adults and may have never had this experience before. Before starting to grind, however, turn it on and while your dog is hearing and/or sniffing the grinder when they stop sniffing, use the BUTT end of it to press against their backside or someplace they are comfortable to test their sensitivity to the vibrations *Before* grinding nails. Then move onto a paw still with the butt end. This could take a couple times. Then when you are confident your dog will not get scared, start grinding slowly... They may only let you do one or two nails or just one paw, and that is Great. Give treat after each nail. The grinding is so gentle, my girl started falling asleep. 😊 Because switching positions disturbs her relaxation, we complete one paw at a time before she starts pulling away. At this point, best to stop. Her nails are smooth and trimmed, she even allowed grinding on the underside. All in all, happy that I purchased this and she isn’t scared of the instrument verses the nail trimmer. You may need to do this more often than using the clippers, but so far it is MUCH less risky of injury. 😔 My dog is comfortable with seeing, feeling and allowing trimming of the nail grinder. 4 verses 5 stars only because it does down trim as much as I would like, but it is a grinder after all. And is MUCH safer for my girl. Next: Working on my boy’s nails. Small/medium dude, overall less nervous but somewhat hyper energy.

I like everything bout this product. The dogs do not. They don’t like getting their nails clipped in general, but they especially do not lie the battery operated file. I’m trying to get them used to the noise. It really isn’t noisy, but they know the sound and leave the room. I am still trying to get them used to it though. Everything is easy to use and self explanatory. It really is a good product.

It is not the best or easiest grinder but it does the job. It arrived yesterday and I used it on my dog. She normally does extremely well with grinders but did not like this one. The noise is fairly low so I don't think the noise factors into that at all. When trying to sand down the sharp parts after trimming the grinder would make weird noises when held a certain way or would skip off the nail. I believe this is what was scaring my dog. If your dog scares easily for nail trimmings I don't think that this would be the grinder for you. But if your dog doesn't I think you will be able to use this grinder without issues. The one nice thing about the grinder is it does have a shield so that you can only touch the nail with a small area. I did like that safety feature of it. Overall for the price it is a decent grinder and nail clipper. You are getting what you pay for. Time will tell if it is durable.

It’s a nice product, and it’s well built but my dog absolutely hates it. I don’t think it’s the trimmers fault, my dog gets upset if you literally just look at her feet. If you have a dog that’s a bit timid about trimming this may work for you but if yours is an absolute terrified cry baby like mine, this might not be the best solution.

My dog is a scaredy cat and freaks when it’s time for nails to be done. But this dremel was very quiet and I liked that it had a light on the tip. The light helps to see the quick of my dogs nails because they’re brown. Only down side was that the dremel tip could be a little more corse. Because it took a bit of time and work to get them filed down.
