This was a gift for my 5 year old son’s birthday. He had shown interest in a guitar for a while and I was happy to find a small guitar he could handle that was more than a toy. He loves it. The yellow color is sooo bright and happy looking. The sound is nice as well - I did decide on the Loog Pro instead of the Loog Mini because of the better sound, despite it being for age 8 and up. The packaging was also very nice with flashcards and two guitar picks included in a nice cloth bag. I wish there was a little more to the app. We have only begun to use it, but there don’t seem to be alot of lessons. I contacted customer support to inquire if they knew if We would be able to use the 3 string with Yousician or anything else once we complete the Loog lessons. The response time was quick, but they basically just referred me back to their app - which I obviously already knew about - a more informative response would have been nice. Also the lessons videos are just an adult teaching, would be nice since this is for kids to have an animated teacher or at least a child alongside the adult instructor. So we like the guitar, but really wish they would expand the app to include more, especially for the three string guitars, since I think they are the only maker of such a guitar. ... show more

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She Strummed it like crazy for about a week and now it sits in her room and I play it. Pretty sturdy withstood our two year old standing on it and I don’t see the sharp fret issue someone reported. It goes out of tune fairly quickly but it’s not that big a deal. It’s very easy for a child to hold and gets them used to pushing down the frets. I’d say if you’d child is interested it’s a good start. ... show more

So far this has been a big hit at my house with three little ones under age 7. When we tried to download the apple app, it required the latest iOS. My kids have ipads 2 and 4, so they cannot download it. We tried the android app on my tablet, but it crashed repeatedly, so I hope there will be an update. The guitar looks so pretty and fun, and seems like it's made well. My 6.5 year old was able to learn two cords already in just a few days, and my 4 year old learned one. ... show more

These little guitars really are something special. The construction is of very high quality, as is the finish. My 6yo is really enjoying playing alongside her daddy, and we can play the same tabs, with the realization that this guitar only has the bottom three stings of a normal 6 string. The Loog guitar is ideal for smaller beginners. I am teach my 7 year old. I purchased him the Yamaha FG JR2 and it was a little hard for him to get to some of the frets and hold the guitar correctly. This solves that and is really helping hi. To enjoy and learn. It is a little pricey but considering this is the only one of it kind you are kind of stuck. The online learning has been help and fun for him. All in all I'd say it's a good investment for future players ... show more
