This is great platform for learning to play guitar, and for an experienced player, it is a fun little rig! I have both the acoustic version and the electric "Pro" version of the Loog, and have noticed my kids really prefer the electric. I've found myself picking it up and goofing around with it, far more than I expected to (my Telecaster might be getting jealous). My kids like the speaker, but also enjoy playing it thought "the big amp" as well as looping it through a Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp, and/or piping out to a little Bose portable speaker we have at home. The only improvement I would suggest is adding an internal headphone amp (something like the cheap ones at Guitar Fetish) so that practice can be even quieter, right out of the box. (A USB-to-mobile-device direct connect would be cool, especially for interacting with the app, but would probably double the price.) ... show more

The guitar sounds good when connected to an amp although it needed a bit of a setup. Mine came with a short circuit when switching to the battery-powered amp. I live overseas so returning it is not an option. Since the entire electronics are on a PCB changing the switch is not an option, so I'll have to change the entire thing:, tone and volume knobs, switch and probably the led. The good thing is that we have 3 amps at home, the bad news is that they are quite loud and my son isn't exactly Mark Knopfler. Overall I think it's a great guitar, I just had bad luck. Guitar is well made, but the app is terrible. Tech support said it won't work with my Samsung S20. A fix is supposedly in the works. Who would have thought someone would want to use a Samsung phone? Reviews for guitar are good, but wish I had gone the next step and checked the reviews for the app. They're awful, so it's not just me or my phone. Do not buy if you plan to use the app. ... show more
