    • A great toaster at an economical price
The problem with most of the toasters that I have had over the last 25 years is that they are all consistently poor performers and usually toast unevenly, irrespective of whether they are cheap or expensive. This trend stops now with the Anfilank Long Slot Toaster. This is a really nice toaster, albeit inexpensive and looks it a bit, but it has nice features and most importantly toasts evenly. Call me shocked! Here are the things that I feel are noteworthy regarding this toaster: * Finally, I have a toaster that allows me to place a full double slice piece of sourdough into the toaster without cutting the bread in half or trimming off a chunk from one of the sides * This toaster does a bang-up job or doing what is its primary purpose: toasting a piece of bread evenly and predictably * The design is very attractive and all of the functions are laid out perfectly in terms of usability. All the buttons have a decent click / feedback and the chrome accents on black is great. Sure, there are better made toasters on the market, but I would trade good performance (which this has) over having a premiere brand on my counter for 3 times the price * The LED display function is very nice, it shows the countdown timer which is set by the toasting level which is segregated into 6 positions from barely toasted to quite dark. My only complaint is that the LED display could be a bit brighter for my eyes. I have a very bright kitchen and with my old eyes I find it a bit of an effort sometimes to read the display * A nice 12 month manufacturer warranty is specified, with full support contact information provided. This tells me that the vendor has confidence in their product * Update :: I am going to give this a 1/2 point reduction to 4.5 stars, as I discovered that the slots are a bit short vertically; large pieces of bread can sometimes stick out of the top of the toaster So yes, I will give this Anfilank Long Slot Toaster a high recommendation. The price is very reasonable, the unit is attractive and seems well designed and made. These are all attributes that hoists this toaster above its competition in performance and value. ... show more

    • So far...It's a good little toaster.
The media could not be loaded. I've had my current toaster for about 10 years. It has 2 slots on one side with a lever and 2 slots on the other side with a different lever. The right side lever was giving me problems and wouldn't lock down to toast. So it was time to replace it. I saw this one and liked what i saw. After getting this one I immediately noticed it's slimmer and more compact, which I liked. I also noticed the cord for this toaster is very short, so if it isn't a foot or so away from an electric outlet, you're gonna need an extension cord, which I didn't like. But luckily my power outlet is near this appliance. One thing I really liked about this unit is the warmer feature, I like that you can pop up alittle rack and you can keep bread warm. I also really liked how it had a little countdown timer on the side that went higher and lower depending on how cooked (level 1-6) you want your bread, that was a great feature. I've only used sliced bread (not really a bagel person) in it about 4 times so far and it seems to toast the bread pretty evenly. Not 100% even but it will do. As far as how long this toaster will last? who knows... It isn't flimsy or doesn't feel cheap, but it also doesn't feel like it's a super solid and sturdy. So we'll see what the future holds.     • So much nicer than my old toaster!!!
My ancient toaster is so old that I think it rubs two sticks together to heat the bread. It uses a bi-metal thermostat to determine doneness, which has always been inconsistent, especially if making a second batch of toast. The Anfilank toaster uses a digital timer for determining doneness, which is much more consistent, regardless whether it's the first batch of the morning, or toast for the whole family. Rotating the dial changes the countdown timer. Pushing the "Thaw" button adds 30 seconds to the timer. Yesterday I noticed that the toast I made for an egg sandwich wasn't as dried out and crusty as my old toaster. It was also a lot more uniform in color not only on each side, but across both sides. I was very happy with the results. The most unexpected benefit that I hadn't anticipated is being able to monitor the countdown timer while I'm cooking something else. This makes it much easier to handle the timing for things like making sausage and egg muffins in the morning. ... show more
