I have always been a big fan of the Logitech combo touch keyboards. I used one for years with my 11 inch iPad Pro. It worked perfectly all the time. And I love the fact that the keyboard detaches when you want it to. (You can’t do that with the Apple magic keyboard, and therefore I feel like the Logitech solution is simply better.) When I got my 13 inch iPad Pro M4, I held off on getting the combo touch because I wanted to keep the iPad as light as possible. That certainly did the trick using a simple front and back cover. The one that I used was the. Pitaka case. It’s better than Apple‘s case because it has more prop up options due to its origami structure. Fast forward to a couple months ago. I decided to get the new Logitech combo touch keyboard for my 13 inch iPad. Having done so, I am once again completely an enamored of this case. It works absolutely perfectly, and adds a whole new level of functionality to using the iPad. I always knew this, but I knew it would make the unit weigh more, but in my opinion, it is well worth it. I love the fact that the iPad is protected on all edges. I love the fact that the keyboard is back lit and the action on the keys is excellent. On the 13 inch iPad, the Querty keyboard is full-size. It’s very luxurious to use. You can do all the keyboard command, and trackpad tricks very easily on this device. I am currently running the beta version of iPadOS 26. Just a little heads up, this OS is a game changer for the iPad. Multi screen management will be taking a giant leap forward with this OS. The iPad will now behave much more like a MacBook. File management is way better. And the keyboard shortcuts are even more enabled in this new version of the operating system. This just helps to add to the functionality and value of this keyboard. I love the fact that the new version of the combo touch for the pro is black. It’s super cool looking. But keep in mind, this case is a huge fingerprint magnet. It fingerprints like crazy. You will have to accept that with the material they chose to make this out of. You can clean it up pretty easily though with a dampened static cloth so it’s not the end of the world. 😊 Overall I cannot recommend this keyboard case enough. It is absolutely fantastic. Oh, and one other great advantage to this particular keyboard case is that the kickstand technology enables you to set up the screen at a very shallow angle if you want to draw or paint on it. I had a case like this on my M1 iPad Pro, so when I got the 13 inch M4 iPad Pro I decided to stick with Logitech for my case. The design of this case emulates the Microsoft Surface and Surface keyboard, providing a kickstand for the iPad and a removable keyboard. I do feel the price is outrageous, but there aren’t many quality options when it comes to cases in this design. This updated version functions better - the trackpad is larger and does not randomly stop working like the older version did, and the case feels less flimsy that the older version. The keyboard feels a little more comfortable to use, and the back lighting is much better as well - there seems to be more steps in brightness and the backlight adjusts with the automatic brightness on the screen. There is still a bug from the prior version of this case where the back lighting doesn’t always come back on after going to sleep while open. Pressing the brightness buttons will turn the back light on again, but I do feel this is an oversight. Installation is mildly anxiety inducing because you have to use some force to get the case on the iPad, but I managed to do it without breaking anything; just follow the instructions in the box. Some other cases just attach with magnets to the rear of the iPad, but by wrapping around the frame of the iPad this case provides more protection. I certainly wouldn’t try dropping my iPad in this case, but I feel confident that my iPad is protected while in my bag. One thing I dislike about this case is the material used on the exterior. The exterior portion which sits on the rear of the keyboard is a smooth plastic (or maybe metal? I can’t decide) which is prone to marring and fingerprints, while the exterior on the rear of the iPad is more rubbery feeling, akin to the official folio cases. The older version of this Logitech case used a fabric material on all portions of the exterior and for the wrist rest, and I definitely preferred that design over this. I carry a regular iPad from work in the same pouch as my M4 in my work bag, and the rubber feet on the work iPad’s case have marked up this Logitech case like a gym floor. This case, only being available in black was also a disappointment, but at least it’s a neutral color. There does seem to be slightly more noticeable battery drain from the keyboard on this version of the case versus the original, but you can always turn off the back light reduce power draw from the iPad. ... show more

Excellent but with some serious flaws

UPDATE: took a star away. I got the first case replaced under warranty, however the second case is more of the same. The keyboard is extremely inconsistent, the keys are constantly coming loose or sticking. While they haven’t outright popped off like the first case it seems like during every use a key stops working because it is either stuck, crooked, or has come loose and is at an odd angle. Currently I have two keys that are definitely only half attached at the moment leading to a lot of missed letters during typing. The case and keyboard have suffered no abuse, drops or any other potential damage. However, the usage is high and the keyboard gets typed on around 5 hours a day 5 days a week. As annoying as the apple stand case was and how awesome the concept of this case is, having an inconsistent keyboard is far worse for me than the shortcomings of the apple stand case. TL;DR features are great, durability is terrible, also terrible for on your lap when using keyboard I received the combo touch and the iPad fit in it perfectly. I had been coming from Apple’s case, which was good, but due to the fixed hinge was a little annoying to use because it didn’t bend as far as I would have liked it to and it lacked the ability to fold all the way around or remove the keyboard to just use the iPad like a regular iPad. The combo touch seemed like it would fix many of these issues and provide a larger touchpad. Pros: The keyboard backlighting is excellent. The typing touch is pretty good for a folio case. The part that the IPad goes into is far superior to the apple case and acts like a real iPad case that protects the edges. The trackpad is much larger and pretty responsive. Having almost unlimited angles is definitely a big selling point. Being able to not only remove the keyboard, but also flip the keyboard around and fold it all the way back has been super convenient. Also being able to flip the keyboard around and use the keys as stops for the stand has been an unexpected pro. Cons: I have never had a single issue with the apple keyboard and the keys coming off. I have had several of them and used the heck out of them, dropped them, had them fall off things, possibly even hit them in frustration (at something else not the case). My first case had two keys just come off after babying it, within a month or two of purchase after having nothing happen to it. While it was replaced under warranty, the second case has had a ton of problems with the keys. Some keys stick, other one’s get jammed and you have to either push them really hard or give them a firm poke to get them to activate. The caps lock light just turns on and stays on even when caps lock isn’t activated and the button hasn’t been pressed. The track pad is big and responsive but sometimes sticks and if there is any pressure on the keyboard that may cause some flex, the trackpad will sometimes not click. Also, it’s a small nitpick, but the trackpad being centered in the case, but the keyboard being slightly off center means the palm of my right hand is constantly accidentally touching the trackpad and either clicking or moving the mouse. The other con, that is much more major for how I use the iPad, is the fact that it’s impossible to use sitting in a chair or on the couch with the iPad on your lap, while also needing to type or use the trackpad. If you flip the keyboard around and have the stand rest on the keyboard, it works fine for normal IPad use, but if you’re trying to type or use the trackpad to navigate, the case is useless on the lap. Overall, the case is very good, but I have serious concerns about durability especially once the warranty runs out. I’ve gotten around the lap thing by getting a lap desk, BUT an interesting issue that arose is that with the stand pushed out, the total length that the case sits on is something like 17” or around there and most lap desks are 14-15”. I make the lap desk I purchased work, but the keyboard hangs off of it and finding a replacement that is deep enough to comfortable fit the case has been difficult to impossible. Depending on how you mainly use your iPad Pro this case could be much much better than the apple case, but I think the use case is what will determine whether it’s worth almost the same price as the apple case. At this point, I’ve basically abandoned using this on my lap and have gone back to just using my laptop when I’m sitting on the couch, but using the iPad and case when at work or going somewhere. When I have a desk or somewhere to rest the iPad, the case performs mostly flawlessly except the sticky keys and occasional trackpad issues. 2 stars because of serious durability concerns with the keyboard. ... show more

I got a new iPad Pro 13-inch (2024) and of course, it needed a cover. I have two other Logitech keyboard covers “Slimfolios” on my older iPads. I looked at many and even sought out my favorite Slimfolio. Apparently they haven’t decided to make it for this new model, or at least not yet. The problem with this one was that the price was off-putting. So, I decided to try a less expensive one. After trying three less expensive types from other companies, I am willing to admit I’ve been spoiled. So, I spent the extra money and bought this one. Saying this is beyond the others, is an understatement. This one balances on my lap without being on a table (yes, I was concerned). It is thin but all the edges of the laptop and the screen are covered. Not that I’m planning on dropping it, but it seems to be like my other Slimfolios in that way. I am not very good at preventing the occasional short drop. The previous incarnation survived a child having a temper tantrum, so I am pretty confident in that “it doesn’t look like it can take it, but it totally can” thing. I just got it so, we’ll see. It is not heavy and doesn’t add a bunch of weight or bulk to it. It is a mystery how it gets electricity for it to work, but I’ve decided to embrace the magic and let super techie folks understand that. It doesn’t seem to have any place to put a battery so it must be getting it from the connection to the iPad. I’m able to move the mouse around with the touch pad which is a nice feature my old Slimfolio didn’t have. The keyboard is sensitive and there is a feeling of a click when a key is pressed but I can’t hear it. The keyboard lights up and is controlled by the top keys. You can also control the brightness of the screen, activate Siri, take a screenshot, ff, play, & rev for videos, mute/unmute, and control the volume. Overall, it has a nice soft feel and isn’t slippery in the back. However, on the front when closed, that side is a little slippery. The top of the iPad is exposed where a stylus pen would attach via magnets. So, that functionality is not impaired. Bottom line, I recommend this cover. It is more expensive, but if you’re looking for a keyboard cover that is able to just do what you expect, then this one will do it. ... show more

Good keyboard, innovative design, but not so hot external case material, flexible keyboard

I discovered Logitech keyboards for iPads several years ago after first trying the clunky and expensive Apple offering. Love them! This one even has a new button to fire off a screen shot, but it’s still missing an Esc key. All my previous versions have had a textured external case that was easy to grip and didn’t show fingerprints. Don’t know why they went with smooth material for this one, but it isn’t easy to grip when folded and gathers fingerprints and smudges like crazy. Knocked a star off my rating because of the case. UPDATE: Now that I've worked with it for a while, I've also found that the keyboard itself is somewhat more flexible that earlier versions, so you will get "ghost" activation of the touch pad if the keyboard isn't completely on a flat surface. That makes typing on your lap a challenge. Dropped my rating one star - but this is still better than the very pricey Apple version. UPDATE 2: After just over a year of use, the trackpad sometimes doesn't work at all, or requires an extra finger - for example swiping up with three fingers now only works if I use four fingers. The design is a great concept - full case that covers the edges (the Apple Magic Keyboard [AMK] doesn't), tilt to any angle or flip and lie flat (AMK - no), only 3rd-party keyboard case I've found that does a direct connect and doesn't need charging, useful row of function keys for screen and keyboard brightness, audio controls, and screenshot (AMK has it in latest model plus Esc key). Execution is very poor. Inexpensive compared to AMK, but I would have paid quite a bit more to have better case texture and a more solid keyboard / trackpad. Dropping another star. ... show more

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM LOGITECH iPad Pro 13" M4. I've tried several different keyboard cases since getting my iPad. I previously used an Artek with my Pro 11", which worked well and was priced under $100. Unfortunately, they don't seem to make them for the 13" newest iPad. I had considered the Apple Magic Keyboard, but it doesn't fold back 360 degrees in order to use the combination as a tablet. You have to remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard first. The other drawback is the Apple price. Updated 12/1/25: Barely 3 months after the warranty expired, the rubber housing around the left side of the screen has separated from the case. It’s really ugly and only getting worse. Considering this is a $200 product, I expected more. Attempts to contact customer service are futile. Chat doesn’t answer and they provide no other viable method of contact. I would NOT purchase again. There are other alternatives available for hold or less in price. The Logitech is not quite as expensive but fulfills all of my needs. 1. It folds back 360 degrees. 2. It is very sturdy. (Only for a year) 3. Less expensive. (Now considered too pricey for quality) 4. Strong magnet attachment. 5. Fully protects the iPad when closed. The only con I have is that the Apple Pencil attachment needs a little cage to protect it while carrying the unit. It always wants to come loose while holding the iPad by the right side. A small dig, but if Logitech could fix that, it would be a perfect product...except for the price. I always like to pay less than what I have to. ... show more

So Far, So Good

I was on the hunt for a case for my iPad and given the 13" form factor really should be using it with a keyboard but I also wanted to ensure basic case protection with a kickstand as I use it for consumption as well. The Apple solution didn't meet that need and 3rd party solutions are at not ideal. This combo seems to give the best of both worlds. Overall the case is adequate, pretty thin compared to many other case only options but understandable and helps control weight I like the kickstand option that allows me to adjust accordingly. Now the keyboard and trackpad.... I have had some time with it and overall it's decent for performance. The keys are spread out and allows me to type just like I can with my Air. The trackpad is surprisingly large and responsive. Perhaps my only knock here is size might be a tad too large, my palms have brushed the trackpad and I did inadvertently have enough pressure once where it focused me where I didn't want to be while typing. I think it's about just getting more muscle memory and I'll get over that. While I like the texture of the device, it really is a fingerprint magnet and It looks dirty as a result. Not much I can do about that unless I wear gloves. I also find it odd that for the price and the dual function concept they could not add an Apple Pencil pouch on the back. This seems like one of the biggest oversights as I now have to dig my pencil out. My hope is I dont have to use it much or at all with the keyboard but it would have been ideal to have the option for storing it on device. Overall, even with a few of the setbacks it does a solid job and fits the bill for what I need. I am going on my first long trip next week where I am not taking both my Pro 11" and Air so its going to get a full time workout. ... show more
