had this for 2 months, my favorite feature is detaching the keyboard from the case! sometimes the keyboard can be in the way so it is nice to just remove or flip it to the back side! the light beige color is so beautiful! lots of different colors n textures on the case another thing, i paid a lot of money (on sale) for this case but out of all of the keyboard cases in the market, this is the best option. this keyboard has lots of keybinds (the buttons top row layout) but the apple keyboard case doesn’t, which already makes the logitech keyboard better, in my opinion. love the keyboard! the case is HEAVY AND HEAVY DUTY! It will keep your case PROTECTED. Be sure to always have a good grasp to it, because it could easily be dropped if not handled safely. con that is consistent to other ipad cases are keeping the pencil stable on the side, just don’t keep it stuck on or it may fall out if closed. just nitpicky, everything else about the case is perfection. ... show more

So, I bought a new one of these this week and thought I’d share with you my experiences. Eight months ago, I got one used on eBay to try. So, I know a thing of two about this case. First, I carry my iPad everywhere using a cross body leather bag. So, this case has been banged, dropped, smacked, slapped and even got a little rain once or twice. It still works great. The case is heavy, but… for protection, it does a great job. Again, heavy, between the iPad(1.5lbs) and case(1.7 lbs), you are looking at around 3.2 pounds. But, to me this isn’t awful, as long as my iPad is safe. I have the matching Logitech mouse (sand color) and an aluminum mouse pad. All easily fit in my bag with a 20,000mah battery. I can use it all day long as a portable desktop. Yes… the bag total weight is likely 8 pounds with glasses, wallet, meds, sony earbuds, a giant fold-up knife and voice recorder. My wife calls it my purse. Wives of planet Earth, no husband is going to like you calling his purse a purse. Why? Someone should do a study. This keyboard lets me use the iPad for internet, movies, writing and music all day long in most situations. I don’t need a laptop at all anymore. For file copying, I use a small usb c hub with ssd hd interface(usb 3) HDMI and SD card slots, so I can use my portable monitor (plugged into the battery). So, yeah, two monitor support is still in early days, stage manager is going in a good direction. So all of this easily fits in a small cross body bag. Well not the 2nd monitor, I got a messenger bag for that one.😁 Import features: It doesn’t need to be charged. Uses iPad power. Really great feature you find on very very few cases. You can flip it and fold backwards the keyboard under it, making a triangle, so you can use it in many situations. Take the keyboard off completely and draw with it or use the pen (which, connects magnetically and recharges. Or, you can flip and fold the keyboard back (I do this when I use it on my lap 99% of the time. Above the keyboard is a row of keys. They change brightness, search, key brightness, music control (play/pause, forward or go back) and volume. This is the ONLY case to use the Smart Connector that has this row of keys. I use this row of keys all the time. Love the feel of the keyboard when I type. In fact, my fingers are doing a happy dance even now.😁 My one complaint: I write fiction, yes, I’m a professional liar. So I type a lot. The mouse pad built in gets in the way. There is no way to disable it. But… Amazon sells an aluminum bottom, wrist rest with leather over the top. And they sell thin rare earth magnets. Put two on your keyboard, on the left and right sides of the mouse(so they sit over the magnets built into the case), then use two sided tape and stick them under the wrist rest. And, now the wrist rest sticks there very well. This case isn’t for everyone. I think the one major drawback is using this in your lap. At those times, I just lay my bag on my lap upside down and use the back as a tabletop or I use the virtual keyboard. But, for writing with a flat surface to work on, this keyboard is perfect. And when you close it, the keyboard acts as cover to protect your screen. ... show more

    • Good alternative to Apple Magic Keyboard with a few watch outs

On the whole this works well with a number of advantages to the apple Smart Keyboard for the 12.9in iPad Pro. But it also has a number of disadvantages - at least to me. The ability to easily remove the keyboard front and the variable angles possible to view the iPad are nice and much improved vs Apple's offering. This means if a keyboard is not needed, it can be removed easily. Construction quality appears great so far - it feels much more durable than the apple product. I like the feel of the keyboard and the trackpad and it uses the smart connector - so no bluetooth or battery worries. There are some differences/disadvantages that may be relevant for some It is HEAVY so be prepared for this combination to weigh a ton - certainly laptop territory. It does not have the additional power connection the apple keyboard contains, so if you need to keep your iPad charging while connecting drives, monitors etc this may be less convenient. I find it requires a lot of real estate (depth) to use with the keyboard attached....much more space than the apple option. Normally this is not a problem on a table for example but I have found it impossible to use the keyboard section on my lap. One other true annoyance is that the space for USB C/Thunderbolt cables is too small to be compatible with all cables. It is hit or miss which cables fit - the ones I use for power fit OK but my Sony SD card reader and sabrent hard drive do not fit into the space in the case and cannot be connected without removing the iPad from its case. If the above niggles are not important then I think this is a great option. I will keep mine. ... show more
