  • Great Keyboard/trackpad case for IPad
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard Color: Oxford Gray
I bought this Logitech Combo case after years of suffering with the Zagg pro keys keyboard and trackpad case for my iPad. What a revelation this Logitech case is. The keyboard is very user friendly; this one has a bit of a click on it that I like. The function keys are not just a “nice to have”, but essential at this point. I need to have the brightness control, the volume control and the backlight options on there. That’s a deal breaker for me. Another dealbreaker is the trackpad. The Zagg trackpad was something truly horrible, it would skip and move around the screen on it’s own. This Logitech combo case is a revelation. The trackpad works incredibly well. I really cannot tell the difference between using an external trackpad and this one. All the functionality is there. . Another thing I that I found amazing is that the trackpad is not accidentally activated by your palms; your fingers actually have to touch the trackpad for it to work. This was incredibly aggravating on the Zagg trackpad, I would try and type of the keyboard, but my palms would accidentally activate the trackpad and my cursor would end up in all the wrong places on my screen, I am happy to report that this is not the case on the Logitech combo. Typing and using the trackpad on the Logitech combo is a true please. Of course, not everything is wonderful. I am saddened that you can not turn the keyboard all the way over to get it out of the way, and even use it as s stand for your iPad. You have to detach it from the iPad; not a big deal, but it’s worth mentioning. Another minor thing I noticed was that the case itself does not have any kind of groove to open up the case when it’s closed, I would start growing our a few or your nails if you want open up the case with ease. Lastly, while not a complaint, I would say that the kickstand is sturdy and does the job fine, but don’t put too much weight on it. Overall, this is a wonderful keyboard/trackpad combo. It protects your iPad very well and it has a good price on it. I can definitely see myself using this case for years to come. ... show more

  • Serviceable yet aggressively mediocre
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard Color: Oxford Gray
I don't know why Amazon wants me to rate this on its touch screen, or battery, because it doesn't have either. Battery: there is no battery as the keyboard is powered by Smart Connect, which has a nice magnetic connection. Keyboard: The backlight is fine, no complaints. The keyboard is very small and cramped, but I have large hands. Others may have a better time, but if I have access to a larger keyboard that's what I'll be using, this keyboard is suitable for emails, browsing, etc. But if I am writing something substantial or coding or something it's time to use a big boy input device. I have not used the magic keyboard to compare them. It really is fine though, and the globe key provides the ability to do the kind of old school OS level keyboard shortcuts that some of us prefer from way back in the day, I'm sure some people really get into them. It's cool to not always have to reach up and touch the screen. This thing is definitely serviceable and I am glad I own it rather than nothing, don't get me wrong. Trackpad: Wanted to give another star for the excellent trackpad, but this thing's overall mediocrity makes its best feature not as great a selling point. Anyway it works well and clicks well. Case: My beef with this case is how flimsy the kickstand is. This thing is trying to be both a kickstand style case and a keyboard attachment, and its weakness is in the kickstand. The edge of the stand is very flimsy and has caused my iPad Pro to topple forwards or backwards many times when trying to get a better angle. I have been thinking of how to stabilize the stand and I think a fold-out lip would go a really long way, or even just a 3d printed 'foot' or something to wedge it into when you're trying to get something done. It's a pretty terrible experience for a case keyboard combo that costs this much money. The viewing angles are very limited in keyboard mode, if you put it at too acute an angle the iPad topples forward onto your hands. There is nothing to stabilize it. So you can never really be sure you can safely get real work done even if you place it on a desk. If on a softer surface such as a lap, the tiny lip of the kickstand provides almost zero stability. That is, if your lap is even long enough to accommodate the rear kickstand plus the full length of the keyboard and your iPad doesn't fall off your knees. I could see using it laptop style if you had a tray in your lap. How I find this useful: as bad as this design is at what it's designed for, if you reverse the keyboard attachment and use it as a way to prop the kickstand, you get a sturdy easel-like configuration for art or taking notes by hand. This is how I actually use it in my lap, and something that I find genuinely useful about it. However, this probably damages the keys and I wouldn't recommend it unless you have as much contempt for this device's tiny keyboard as I do. Case: I can't stand the way this thing picks up dirt. It's like a dirt magnet. The soft fibers are like a sponge gathering your finger oils, any ambient grime that you accidentally put your iPad near, what have you. I'm not a dirty person and after a couple months the thing has a patina of finger oils in certain places. The fabric has also shown how it will wear, probably not great, this thing's houndstooth grey pattern will look pretty shabby in a year or two. Looks: I dig the fabric, that's kinda elegant. The case itself is a muddy tan that seems maybe inspired by the military? Or something? I really don't get why it is this color, and this really isn't why you're buying this case. You're buying it because you need something cheaper than a Magic Keyboard. My theory is that they know this, therefore they're making it as ugly as possible so that you know you're not getting the premium experience. It's fine. It's "professional" or whatever to have an ugly computing device anyway. Overall: it's fine, whatever. It will get the job done but you will spend a lot more time adapting to its limitations than enjoying using it. ... show more

  • Logitech keyboard & stand
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard Color: Oxford Gray
This product sets up my I-pad so I can use the keyboard to type documents. It is well made and the keyboard can easily removed if the keyboard is not being used. It has an easy-touch keyboard which is very responsive and the cover material looks professional. I have been using it for about 2 months now and have enjoyed using my I-Pad like a regular laptop. ... show more

  • Good while it lasted
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard Color: Oxford Gray
I got this case two years and I've used it since. It’s very convenient when you just want a case when watching movies or YouTube on your lap. However, (and I know this happens to a lot of rubber cases) it has started to warp A LOT. It’s almost to the point of losing all of its rubber. I don’t usually play around with it or fiddle with it, so it naturally warped. But for two years, it’s not the worst. ... show more

  • Useful, but not light
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard Color: Oxford Gray
Bought this for an upcoming European trip and I've been playing with it for a week. Previously I've traveled with the iPad and the smaller Apple wireless keyboard (and no trackpad). Seems well made, and I like the keyboard and trackpad. So, I've decided to keep it and to take it with me, but I'll note two disadvantages: First (which I knew going in) is that you are restricted to landscape rotation, which is sometimes inconvenient; Second (of somewhat more concern) is that this thing is fairly heavy (listed as 1.27 pounds). I'll have to see whether that proves to be an issue. ... show more
