  • Rad!
Color: Yellow
Takeway: Fast, Fun and Furious. Moderately high learning curve. Only one battery for the car. OK...So I realize that I most likely dated myself by my one-word headline, but it's the first one that came to mind once this 'thing' took off. Man... this thing is fast... lightening fast!! When you first start playing with it give yourself PLEANTY of room while you figure out the controls. The "car" itself has some pretty decent weight to it - likely because of the wheels. Whereas the controller has a light-weight, sort-of, flimsiness to it. The battery pack (there's only one, unfortunately) has a compartment on the car that you have to unscrew with a tiny screwdriver (supplied) to take it out to charge. The connector plug at the end of the battery pigtail as well as on the charger have very small connectors so be very careful when connecting them to avoid bending the tiny pins inside the tiny connectors. The controller uses standard AA batteries. The best way that I can put with respect as to how the controller works is to compare it with driving a tank! The left controller knob controls the left set of wheels (or tracks on a tank) and the right knob, the right set of wheels. Push them BOTH forward and both sets of wheels go forward and push them both back to go backwards. But then, when you push one side forward and the other backwards, that's how the car turns and that's also how you get that ultra-fast spinning on a dime! I believe, for most, there will be a pretty decent learning curve to get this car to where you'll be controlling the car instead of the car controlling you. ... show more

  • Fun but hard to drive
Color: Yellow
First off, this car was a lot of fun to play with. Both myself and my 11 year old really got a kick out of making it zoom around, flip, and spin. The spinning effect where the wheels split apart as it spins faster and faster and starts spelling things with perfectly timed LED flashes is not only super cool but also seems like a small engineering and physics marvel. Speed was pretty good. While we didn't get it going on a long runway, it was pretty zippy around the living room. Battery life was also pretty good considering how small the included lithium ion battery was. We probably got 20-30 minutes and put it away with some juice still in it. If you think that this is going to be a typical RC car, you may end up disappointed. It's really hard to drive with any sort of control. The controller uses two levers; left and right. But instead of forward/back and left/right like you might typically have, both levers are forward/back for the left and right set of wheels separately. This means to make it go forward you need to push both levers forward and to go back you push both levers back. To turn you move just one of the jlevers forward or back, but it's so sensitive that it's hard to really navigate. Pushing the two levers in opposite directions causes the car to start spinning. While the car is pretty durable, the controller seems kind of cheap. The left lever had a tendency to stick and made the car keep moving even after you let go. I was tempted to give this a lower rating given the difficult to control and issues with the controller, but then I thought about how much fun it was to play with despite these issues. You may not be taking this down to the local RC race track, but your kids (and probably you) will have fun playing with this car. ... show more

  • Fun RC car
Color: Yellow
This RC car is super fun to play with. My niece and I had a blast playing with the car and having it flip and keep going when it hit an obstacle or anything like that. It zooms pretty fast which is awesome. The remote control is easy to use, but I wish it was easier to move the car in a straight line rather than just having it turn around in circles and do tricks all the time. The lights are cool when playing in a lower light environment. The car battery charges fairly quickly. You do need to provide 2 AA batteries for the remove control. My one gripe is that you have to unscrew the battery covers to access the battery compartments. The small screws are easily to lose. It does not make sense to have a screw on the remote control battery cover, but I can see why the car may need more security since it will be hitting walls and obstacles which could jar the battery loose. ... show more

  • Fun!
Color: Yellow
This is a pretty neat RC car. It's quick, able to do different tricks, and handle different road surfaces with ease. The controller is challenging to get use to so it'll take some time to learn how to control the RC car better. Run-time is decent, but then you have to recharge because there's only one battery pack so the fun-time is limited. I'm giving it 4 stars because just when you're starting to get the hang of it, it's time to stop and recharge. The lighting effects are pretty neat, but I personally think it's more of a gimmick. Maybe kids will be more impressed. ... show more

  • Pretty fun little car
Color: Yellow
Easy to get started—you just need 2 AA batteries for the remote control. The car itself is rechargeable (comes with a charging cable). It had some charge right out of the box. It’s a pretty crazy little guy—the controls are pretty sensitive. It has pretty high torque and flips around all over the place. I haven’t been able to make it say anything but “Good” with its fancy lights. Maybe I can change it, but I haven’t been able to figure that out yet. My 11-year-old son is going to love it! ... show more

  • 3 modes 1 problem
Color: Yellow
Fast, faster, and fastest! This RJ stunt car is amazingly fun! Banging it up against the fireplace or wall, it keeps coming back for more. When spinning it to see the words it’s not as clear as the product pictures. Also, I was looking to be able to change the display words but could not. It’s not equipped to change the word. Being able to change the words was a selling point for me. However, it doesn’t take much away from the overall fun I had with the stunt car. ... show more
