I purchased this rug just to make my hardwood floor living room seem a little more inviting and because my kid loves playing on it. The rug is not very thick but that's okay because for the price it's really not too bad. I would say the only complaint I have is that it does shed so you do see little black fuzz balls around the house and sometimes mistake them as spiders LOL. To clean it I vacuum it and that can sometimes be a little difficult as it's shag carpet so you have to go over it a lot with the vacuum. I'm giving this product four stars because I knew for the price it wouldn't be super thick and I knew that a shag carpet would shed a little bit. One thing I should mention is if you do vacuum this carpet make sure to check your roller brushes after every couple of vacuums because it does get caught up in there just like hair and you'll just have to clean it out like you normally do. If you're looking for a decent quality rug for a good price and don't expect anything amazing then this is good for you. Make sure that you expected to shed because it's going to shed and know that it can be a little difficult to clean. As far as smell goes when I first purchased it there was a slight smell but it really wasn't too bad after sitting out for a day it was fine I also use a disinfectant tide spray on mine after cleaning it just to give it a little extra scent. ... show more

This rug is so soft and fuzzy! It came vacuum-packed in a small bag - much smaller than the 8x10 size it is! and I was worried that the folds wouldn't flatten, but they did with no trouble. The rug doesn't have much padding, but since most of it is under the bed it really doesn't matter. It stretches to either side of the bed and that's what we wanted -something to step on as we get out of bed. The dogs LOVE the fuzziness - the little one likes to hang out under the bed in her own little spot of luxury, lol! Vacuuming the rug lifts the knap in different directions for a real "shag" look. Giving a four because while it is very soft, there simply isn't any cushioning. If you have a tile, floor you must buy some type of padding, which I do have a half inch nonslip padding on order. Must mention that on unpacking that it is extremely wrinkled. And that it probably will need the full 48 hours to fully straighten out. The rug is very soft! I did spray Lysol and Fabreeze on it to make it smell pleasant, as it has a slighttt order (nothing terrible). I would recommend getting it for the prize! I purchased the 3x5 ft size. I think this size is great for a college dorm/apartment bedroom (what I’ll be using it for soon). I don’t know how long this rug will last though or if it will shed (haven’t used it long at all yet lol), so I shall see! First impressions were pretty good though. ... show more

I ordered this rug in hopes that the dog will stay on the floor and off the furniture. So far it's working. Rug is very thin but soft. No cushioning but feels nice under the feet/paws.

But it fluffed right up, is super soft and actually has pretty great padding...or what I call the squish factor. I've washed it twice and no problems.
