I bought this primarily because it’s made of wood. However when it’s assembled, I found that the balls can’t be removed from the track. I’ve bought the plastic ones previously only to find the cat was able to get the ball out. Undoubtedly the cat had as much fun chasing it around the house as in the toy. I prefer they stay put. My kitten has entertained herself for many hours with this. It doesn’t slip on the floor either, so she can flip around, over, whatever and she won’t be chasing the thing all over. I will say she doesn’t play with the pom pom. This one has 2 balls and a round bell. Now the bell will stick in the track a little bit, it’s not as small or as round as the balls. But it gets knocked loose easily as the cat bats at the balls. It was just a bit hard for me to assemble but even that, it only took about 10 minutes. After doing that, I thought maybe the pieces could be adjusted to better allow the bell to move. Maybe not, too much room, and the balls would be everywhere. So I didn’t mess it again. Or leave the bell out. With this you can customize it your way. I’m so satisfied with this purchase. Really worth the money. I meant to video her playing, apparently I hit the photo and just watched her on my own. Sorry.

When I sprinkle catnip on the scratch pad they go crazy and play with it. Otherwise my cat's aren't very interested in it. They do knock the balls around from time to time but overall not used a lot.

Actually returned because when in play it seemed a bit noisy. Also it didn't peak my cat's interest enough to overcome the risks associated with excessive noise during work and sleep times. But with all that being said, the quality was good. I loved that it was wood and not plastic. It looked great...a bit classier than again, plastic. It just wasn't right for us.

I like that this is made of wood and it's sturdy and stays put meaning the cats can't push it around on carpet, but the metal balls on the wood are a bit loud. Other than that it's great. Our male cat loves it.
