  • Great Battery Adapter Kit for Extended Filming Sessions
Connector Type Used on Cable: 2-Pin
I’ve been using the llano NP-FZ100 dummy battery kit for my Sony camera, and it has made a huge difference during long shoots. The compatibility with my Sony a7R IV is flawless, there are no firmware issues, and the power supply is steady. I no longer have to worry about running out of battery in the middle of a recording. It’s a game-changer for any project that requires hours of uninterrupted shooting, especially video or time lapse. The build quality is excellent. The adapter feels sturdy and reliable, and I love the longer, flexible cable. It makes it so much easier to set up the camera in different positions without having to worry about short cables or awkward placements. Whether I’m shooting in the studio or taking the kit on location, I’ve never had an issue with power delivery or connectivity. Safety is another thing I appreciate about this product. With 6 layers of protection, including over-voltage and short-circuit safeguards, I feel confident using it for extended periods. It’s perfect for commercial filming or any situation where you need consistent power without the fear of overheating. The setup is quick and easy, and it’s a must-have for anyone who does video work or shoots long sessions. Definitely a worthwhile investment for serious content creators. ... show more

  • It works well, a better solution for the ZV-E10II than the FX30
Connector Type Used on Cable: 2-Pin
This Dummy Battery works well in the FX30 and the ZV-E10II. It is designed to provide power to the camera from an external AC source. The cable is a standard two prong NEMA 1-15 plug that connects to the power block with an IEC C7 figure 8 connector. It would be nice if this part of the cable was a little longer, but you could always pick up a longer one if you need to as they are readily available. From the power block to the dummy battery it is a hard-wired 5.5mm x 2.1 male barrel plug. The dummy battery connects to this with a female barrel plug. The one bad thing about this is that on my V-mount battery it has female outputs, so I'll need an adapter if I wanted to plug the dummy battery directly into the V-mount battery. If the cable had not been hardwired to the power block it could have just unplugged at the power block and then right into the v-mount. It is a little thing, but just something to know if you are planning on being able to do something like that. The total length of the cable is approximately 9 feet long but you could get an extension for the barrel plug cable and extend that as long as you need. While the FX30 has internal cooling and heat usually isn't a problem, the ZV-E10II can overheat quickly, and this dummy battery solves that problem. It keeps the camera cool during longer 4K shoots. This is probably better suited for the EV-10II than the FX30 only because the EV-10II has a slot in the battery door for the cable to pass through, but the FX30 doesn't so you would need to leave the battery door open or replace the battery door with some that has a slot. As noted in the listing this replacement is not included. This is inconvenient on the FX30 because without this you have to leave the battery compartment open which could let moisture or dust into the battery compartment very easily. This is probably better for use in an indoor setting like a studio or venue because of that. Overall, this is an inexpensive solution to the overheating problem on the ZV-E10II and will allow you to shoot for long periods without battery swaps on all of the compatible cameras. It would be better if it came with a USB-C adapter in addition to the wall plug and if there were just a few engineering changes. I'm still giving this 5 stars, but those few small changes would have made it even better. ... show more

  • Works well but no battery cover replacement for cord
Connector Type Used on Cable: 2-Pin
This is a nice adapter with appropriate agency approvals indicated (my first check) and it did power up my Sony A1. The camera indicated 100% "battery" and operated normally. In the listing it shows a modified battery cover with a gap for the cord. This cover IS NOT INCLUDED. So ... if you intend to use the adapter on a high end camera be warned it is going to leave the battery compartment open. Any moisture (think beach, high humidity, etc) which the camera is totally able to handle will possibly be compromised. I intended the use case to be astrophotography. With AP you may be taking exposures for 5 or 6 (or more) hours. Night exposures brings on dew and moisture. Had the listing clearly indicated "not included" this might have been a different review. Perhaps other models of Sony cameras have such power cable support in the battery door. Be sure to check your camera!! The packaging is well done. Each item is separately encased and isolated by partitions. Well done. ... show more

  • A dummy battery that makes it easier to get the job done... No problems here
Connector Type Used on Cable: 2-Pin
The simplified tl;dr is that I can't think of a single thing objectively wrong or undesirable about this dummy battery. It has a reasonably long and flexible power cord, it has enough space on the end so that the cable doesn't get crimped or wear out too fast from being forced into awkward positions, and $30 (the current price as I write this) is far more reasonable than some of the dummy batteries I've owned in the past. For anybody that doesn't know, and likely never noticed, most cameras have a tiny little door built into the door of the battery compartment. It's actually designed specifically for the purpose of dummy batteries that need to have a cable running to the faux battery without leaving the larger door open. A lot of dummy batteries might be designed for a specific camera model where that tiny door might be positioned differently, but this dummy battery has a gap where the cable can fit with some extra room. I used the dummy battery with my A7iii for several shoots and had zero troubles with it, even after a few hours powered on. My camera doesn't really have an overheating issue, especially in these colder months, but I'll happily use this dummy battery even more when I upgrade since this system offloads some of the heat production outside the camera body. While I don't have complaints, I would like to see a change in a future version. The current version uses a barrel connector between the battery and the power supply brick. I would argue the better design would be to make that a USB-C plug, with a matching port on the power supply. The reasoning here is that you could then attach the dummy battery to a power bank. I know most modern cameras support power via USB-C, but if you need to keep that port clear to use with accessories, a dummy battery is still the best answer. ... show more
