This thing fits in the palm of your hand or slides in your back pocket when folded. With the 3' x 3' top it works very well as a pot rest. It's pretty solid once all connected.     • Better than what I expected
There have been numerous reviews on this product and many claim that the Solo Stove alcohol burner does not fit in the stove. This is not true with the Lixada Stove I received. It fits perfectly! There has also been claims that it doesn't assemble easily and that the locking pin is too easily lost. I found it a very common sense item that is very sturdy and affordable. if you secure the pin with stainless steel loop wire before you start cooking, you not only prevent the pin from being lost, you prevent the pin from coming out during cooking. My only "pet peeve" is the square cooking platform is too prone to spilling if the pot being used isn't larger enough to fit with enough space to accommodate smaller based pots! I fixed this by purchasing two stainless steel spikes that can be slid through the circular holes on either side of the top of the cooking platform. Not only do these spikes stabilize the cooking platform and fill the void that could allow smaller based pots from slipping into the heating element, but the steel spikes increase convection and decrease heating times. I got this yesterday and I gave it a test run for a camping trip next week. So, the pros: Lightweight, portable, and easily assembled. Not terrible on usage but I'll get to that. It makes a goodly sized fire for it's size if you're using the right fuel. Overall, I enjoy it and think it will provide sufficient heat to cook. Cons: I don't know whether or not this is worthy of a con versus something that's expected for what it is but you will have to feed it pretty often. Since it's not a full campfire, you can't shove a big log and let it burn down. However, since this is tiny, and only requires small sticks, there is never a short supply of those in the woods! If you're looking for something easy to use, small enough to fit in a pack, and don't mind staying on top of it, this is perfect for you! If you don't want to put the extra work in and rely on cumbersome propane tanks, then I'd say move along. Overall, I would certainly get this again even as a gift for a fellow backpacker ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great little budget stove. When I received this stove it did not have the Lixada logo on it. I don't know why but my stove looks exactly like the 4 side stove and I bout it from this seller. So that was strange to me. But I have had this on a few camping and hiking trips now and it has done great. I did run into a few problems though. Only one pin is supposed to be able to be taken in and out when I went to dump my ash pill out of the stove 1 pin that was not suppose to be able to come out did, and another slid half way out but I was able to catch it. I was able to find the pin that fell and I was able to put it back in no problem. So be careful. Pretty sure this is from it being heated up from building fires in it. The next problem I ran into was that the top tray is Trangia compatable but it was EXTREMELY hard to get the Trangia to go into the whole. I almost gave up but it finally went. It was like the hole was no where near big enough for the Trangia alcohol stove. Pros 1.) Lightweight 2.) Takes up very little space in backpack 3.) Compatible with my Toaks 750ml pot 4.) Thin enough steel that if it warps you can bend it back to shape with ease Cons 1.) Pins arent the best quality 2.) Alcohol tray is a very tight fit 3.) Doesnt get the best air flow would like to see and few more holes in the side for added oxygen ... show more

    • Good for Trangia but needs mods to use Stanley Adventure Cook Set
Bought as a wind screen/holder for my trangia alcohol stove. works good for that after I increased the hole size slightly. I believe it was made for a similar but slightly smaller alcohol burning stove. A Stanley adventure cook set won't fit on top of the 4 walls and remain sturdy so I cut out 4 small spots (2 on each wall opposite one another) in order to set 2 modified tent stakes to set level with the rest of the cook set. Stakes pack away just fine in the pouch. Pouch is sturdy and easily holds additional tent stakes cut to be used to hold up my Stanley cook kit, a piece of disposable aluminum pan that was cut to size and folded up to be unfolded and used as a wind screen. Pin came out of one of the hinges but was able to press it back in using just my hands. Probably won't stay in. I used it twice as a wood burning stove and it was a pain to use with wood. Works better as a trangia holder. Not a useless piece of gear but not as multifunctional as I was hoping. Bottom line: I plan on keeping it as an option but won't use it as Plan A on my backpacking trips. ... show more

I’ve only used it with a trangia style spirit burner so far, and for that purpose it’s been great. Cools off quick and folds easy. The protective plastic it comes in is every bit a pain you’ve heard it was and probably worse, but it’s worth it.

I really love this lil stove. Its really legit. I wish they had the exact same thing in 6 inch. The way it hinges together is perfect. It looks like some come apart in a few pieces. I like that all 4 of the sides are connected. Its probably to small to really cook on but its awesome for my small Stanley coffee pot. I haven't used wood in it yet, just the little sterno can. The can bearly fits but I got it to work. I'll update when I use wood in it but its so small it will probably need tiny little pieces of kindling so I don't know. Probably going to be better with the sterno. ... show more

    • Perfect holder for an alcohol burner.
I got this stove to hold an alcohol burner to make hot water for tea and coffee because it’s much quieter when using it than a gas burner stove. It goes together easily using the hinge and pin assembly. It stays put once assembled. It took just a tiny bit of filing the burner plate to get it to work without binding with the burner I used. The size is perfect for use as a pot base with any steel cup that nests worth a liter bottle. It’s quite pleasant. ... show more
