Description

For Meeko, boarding house life has finally become second nature -- or, it would be, if not for one thing: her housemate Matsunaga-san. Her feelings for him steadily grow stronger, but Meeko is in for a painful shock when he tells her he thinks of her as family! Yet, mere days later, when a night with friends leaves her out past curfew, he sends her reeling again -- not only does he come for her, but he tells her he worries for her, and holds her tight... Adult men just don't play fair!! Presenting the third volume of this boarding house love story! Read more

I am in love with this series and it was an edition I needed and I didn't find at Barnes and Noble. So when I got the book I am so happy to say that the quality is amazing

Love the art and the writing for this one! The pace of the romance is great and the characters are so much fun! If they ever print this as a book outside of kindle I will buy a copy of it for sure!

  • Love the art!
…But the story is a bit slight. By now there's a well established rhythm to the plot. Miko moons over Jun, Jun blushes at Miko's cuteness, Miko makes a mistake, Jun bosses her around while fixing her problem, there's a contrived reason for them to be in each other's space, Jun gets drunk and confesses his feelings, Jun forgets what happened, then Miko is conflicted but returns to mooning. Each volume ends with an inappropriate tease between an adult and a high school girl that ends up not going anywhere. Rinse. Repeat. So why do I like this series so much? As with any story told with sequential art, the art becomes key to the experience. Therefore, I shouldn't be surprised that the art captures my attention and keeps me riveted. Iwashita's charming facial expressions gives her characters depth that the story lacks. At this point, it is fairly obvious that Jun isn't going to be trying anything, so watching him squirm becomes part of the fun of the story. I am amazed, however, at how well Iwashita differentiates age between characters. Miko's character design is closest to Asako, the nail artist, yet the two are never confused as the other, even during the roof scene where they both had a ponytail. Miko is drawn a full head shorter than most of the characters, her eyes are rounder, her head slightly bigger, her eyes are usually depicted looking upwards, her body positions are usually insecure and closed inward, and her face in a constant state of blush. Asako, by comparison, is rarely shown blushing, while her face is slightly thinner, her hair flowing long and elegant, and her mannerisms more open and confident. When the story lacked punch, I found myself flipping between pages, comparing how subtlety, yet effectively, Iwashita depicted age differences with just a few lines. Where can this story go? I imagine we'll bide our time until Miko graduates. Their age gap is now eleven years, however. Although I can understand being attracted to a younger girl, I'm uncomfortable at times since Miko is a minor. I don't see Jun acting on his impulses, though Iwashita will tease that attraction over and over again. I wonder when the art will stop compensating for my aversion to the age difference between the two leads? ... show more

You just want to cheer for these characters. Sensei's artwork is stunning as always. I love how strong it is. Can't wait to purchase the next volume!
