It def was heavy and it came in 2 separate packages... If it wasn't for my husband being off work, it would of been stuck outside my apt building.. But all around I can't complain!! You def need more than 1 person to assemble!! But if u follow the directions, everything falls right into place!!! I'm absolutely in love with it!! I Purchased this and let it set because it had to be assembled and I just couldn't do it or find so.e to do it for me, I finally got it together and I am shocked by how cheap it is,I'm usually someone who pays attention to what I purchase but this cheap piece of crap got away from me and it's now past the time to return it, oh well I was had but if u like particle board covered with wood look paper then this would work for you but I would honestly stay away from this table! Remember the golden rule with furniture,if you have to put it together then it's junk! ... show more

We were skeptical about this purchase, especially since my first purchase was used/like new, and I didn't receive all the parts required to put it together. But, even after the pain of returning the first one and scouring Amazon for the right island for me, I kept coming back to this one, and ultimately it worked out very well. We think it matches our space perfectly and gives us just enough room to move around in our small kitchen. It did have a small nick on one of the top pieces (possibly during shipping), but all in all, I am happy with this surprisingly sturdy piece of furniture. I know a lot of people spoke about assembly time; it took my husband and son about an hour and forty-five minutes. I will review this again in six months to update on how it holds up. ... show more
